p0cket00 Pockets a Trip to the 2009 Aussie Millions by Seth Shafer
Nov 26, 2008Saturday's Aussie Millions online finals offered up yet another $18,000 trip package and spot on the exclusive Team PokerRoom.com roster, with 44 runners turning out to take their shot at winning a poker dream trip of a lifetime.
The winner would have to navigate a tough field filled with plenty of Team POkerRoom.com veterans members such as Gutenburg1, KristapsK3, stakeajake, bigbalu6, Speedzebre, and naztyclown.
Early leaders in Saturday's online finals included Elias19899, ChipLieder85, and furbo3. When the final table lineup was set, there were still to former bwin Team members alive in the field:
Seat 1: furbo3 ($27,084 in chips)
Seat 2: p0cket00 ($17,244 in chips)
Seat 3: ChipLieder85 ($9,960 in chips)
Seat 4: goto13 ($45,750 in chips)
Seat 5: Elias19899 ($8,457 in chips)
Seat 6: PURNADIRSA ($18,003 in chips)
Seat 7: fel707 ($22,926 in chips)
Seat 8: naztyclown ($21,477 in chips)
Seat 9: Rozza_mite ($33,892 in chips)
Seat 10: Stakeajake ($15,207 in chips)
naztyclown would finally bow out in 5th when he ran into p0cket00's set of eights, and Rozza_mite was the next go in 4th, with his 6c 6h unable to hold against PURNADIRSA's As 9h.
With just three players left, here's how they stood:

Seat 4: goto13 ($102,373 in chips)
Seat 6: PURNADIRSA ($44,775 in chips)
goto13 would exit in 3rd in painful fashion. Sitting on 2c 2h and seeing a flop of 7c 2d 3c, he had to be overjoyed to get it all-in on the turn of the Kh against p0cket00. Overjoyed, that is, until p0cket00 flipped over 3h 3s for a bigger set, knocking out goto13 and raking in a huge pot.
That gave p0cket00 a huge lead over PURNADIRSA when heads-up play began, and p0cket00 quickly closed out matters a few hands later, taking down the $18,000 trip package to the 2009 Aussie Millions and adding his name to the ever-growing Team PokerRoom.com roster.
