Dec 9, 2008If it's the weekend at bwin, it means it's Aussie Millions time, with the online finals on Saturday and Sunday handing out a $18,000 trip package to the 2009 Aussie Millions to the players lucky and skilled enough to finish the day atop the 45 player fields.
But doing that can be a difficult prospect, as the best and brightest bwin players typically turn out for the online finals each way. Saturday's tournament was no exception, with the field featuring the likes of whassup x, Mike-Lowery, Gutenburg1, PLWashy, and bigbalu67.

gddom22 held the chip lead at the first break of Saturday's finals, with makropod wresting it away at the 2nd break. With the field reduced to just five players, xxlailaxx who led the way, trailed closely by mnm1962:

Seat 5: King_Dirk ($31,507 in chips)
Seat 6: mnm1982 ($61,035 in chips)
Seat 8: xxlailaxx ($62,576 in chips)
Seat 10: JuJo2021 ($36,995 in chips)
After a protacted battle when it was five-handed, xxlailaxx would finish in 5th, knocked out when his Ah Jd ran into mnm1982's AcKd. makropod was the next to fall in 4th, done in when his Ad 9c couldn't hold up versus mnm1962's Kh Qh.

King_Dirk had been near the bottom of the pack ever since the final table was set, but made a big move when action was three-handed, doubling up first through JuJo2021 then knocking him out not long after when King_Dirk's rivered trip 7s to take out JuJo2021's pocket 8s (which had been good until the river).
That set up the following heads-up match:
Seat 5: King_Dirk ($139,697 in chips)
Seat 6: mnm1982 ($85,303 in chips)
King_Dirk would chip up quickly and end the match 15 hands into heads-up play, with all the chips going in pre-flop and King_Dirk holding Ac Qc against mnm1962's As 6c.
King_Dirk's dominating hand would hold, giving him the victory and the $18,000 prize package to the Aussie Millions, with mnm1962 finishing in 2nd ($882 plus a ticket to the online finals).
