DaMachine86 Works His Way To the Aussie Millions by Seth Shafer

Nov 20, 2008

The Aussie Millions online finals on November 16th would make yet another PokerRoom.com player’s poker dreams a reality, with the winner of the tournament finishing the day with an $18,000 trip package to the 2009 Aussie Millions in their pocket.

That winner would have to survive a tough field, though, chock full of successful Team PokerRoom.com veterans such as dj_stiff, KristapsK3, Pech gehabt, wild_c4ll, Obst1444, whassup x, Franek-62, and UpChitCreek.

Sir Lod held the chip lead at the first break, with lukass22569 leading the pack at the second break in the action. With the field trimmed to five remaining players, it was DaMachine86 that had made a huge move to sit on a pretty massive lead over the field:

Seat 1: DaMachine86 ($125,365 in chips)

Seat 6: Sir Lod ($17,260 in chips)
Seat 7: Chwilly ($18,760 in chips)
Seat 9: Alobars ($14,290 in chips)
Seat 10: lukass22569 ($49,325 in chips)

Alobars would bow out in 5th when his As7d ran into lukass22569's Ac Kc, and Sir Lod would finish 4th in a similar vein, shoving with As 8s, but finding himself up against DaMachine86's dominating Ac Kc .

Here were the stacks when three-handed play began:

Seat 1: DaMachine86 ($117,060 in chips)
Seat 7: Chwilly ($29,520 in chips)
Seat 10: lukass22569 ($78,420 in chips)

After a few standard hands, things suddenly came to a head, with all three remaining players shoving their chips into the middle pre-flop! DaMachine86 was first to act and lumped his entire 167,540 stack in the middle, Chwilly called for his last 15,040, and lukass22569 called as well for 37,920. Here's what each player was holding:

DaMachine86 - 4c 4s
Chwilly - As 10s
lukass22569 - Qd Q

DaMachne86 had to love the 4d Ah 3c flop, although the Ac on the turn did give Chwilly faint hope for the runner runner suckout for a bigger full house.

The river was the 2c, though, giving the hand to DaMachine86 and ending matters with a bang, as he eliminated both opponents and took down the $18,000 Aussie Millions trip package for himself.

Just a few of the sights awaiting Damachine86 at the 2009 Aussie Millions
