Rags to Riches and a Wealth of Tales - IcemanZa3

It was sometime in 2004 when a game on Television caught my eye, it was a game of cards, and not just any game of cards, but the game of cards, yes I'm talking about Texas Holdem Poker ! I watched the show in Awe, and was astounded at the amount of money, the bright lights and the sheer volume of players. What television show you might well be asking? Obviously the Awe inspiring and magical W.S.O.P, and just like many of us out there, I was hooked!

So began my search for a place where I could play against others that had the same fascination and dream of playing Poker.

But where to play, after searching the internet, I came across some Poker site, it offered both play and real money games at various levels and formats, ranging from cash games, to Multi Table Tournaments to Heads up play, I had arrived, I had found Pokeroom.com. And little did I know this was to become my home, and would remain home for my online poker pleasure.

I started like some of us, playing Play money games and within a few weeks I’d built up a nice pot I was a "Play Money Millionaire" and was clearly on the road to riches, making the real money jump was the next obvious step, and so armed with a little knowledge, a fist full of dollars the stage was set, "I was going to make a killing at this game" I thought to myself. Sadly I turned out to be a little fish in a big ocean full of sharks.

Fortunately though I had a wealth of knowledge and a few helping hands in the form of various players posting in Pokah, Pokerroom.com's very own Poker forum, at its height this forum had thousands of posters, from all over the world, the forum had a real "Community Feel" Poker Players alike posted about Bad Beats, Tales of Glory, and Triumphant Victories.
