RE: SNG strategy

I try to play tight/agressive early on. I wait for great hands and don't both with hands that I consider "fun" to play like Q,10. I'll defend my blinds a little, but not if I have total crap. If I don't flop anything, it's easy to let go if I haven't put a lot of money in the pot.

I wait until the blinds go up to around 25/50 before I loosen up a bit. By that point, there are only about 7-8 people left. If the cards are falling right, then I should be in the middle of the pack. Sometimes I get lower and go into ultra-aggressive mode to steal blinds and avoid confrontations with people that can afford to call me. When it gets to 4-5 people, I just sit back, let the other people take each other out, and pick my spots on when to steal, trap, or whatever. Once the final 3 is hit, I loosen up a lot, and just try to read my opponents even more.

This used to work really well for me, but I had a period of about a month where I kept getting 4th place. It's starting to work again, so I don't know if I just hit an unlucky streak or if I was playing too passive, or not passive enough.
