Theyre going to struggle. And even if they do have some success, there will be away around it...someone else will end up making money off it eventually...new technology, refined processes...whatever...they'l struggle. I just cant see orgainisations rolling over and surrending.
who knows though...stranger things...very strang things...happen...
I never thought I'd say this, but maybe it's time we voted all these right-wing Christian-right-loving SOB's out of office. Maybe if they lose in the next elections, the law will be loosely enforced.
OK, seriously. Everybody calm down. This is exactly what's going to happen:
Existing poker sites are run out the door. American B&M's wait a liitle while just to not look like complete vultures and then open up their own gov't regulated sites. Winnings there will be taxed accordingly to American laws. The industry slowly returns to normal.
Think about how Napster was 7 years ago and how iTunes slowly filled that void with a different and much more business friendly structure.
Well sort of, FTP and UB are still up and accepting new players. Lot's of freaking out in the PR lobby today, but I've played some today, so I don't think I've been blocked or limited to play-money games. I could be dreaming, of course. The sites that ride out the storm will dominate the landscape, while all the sites that shut down US ops will find themselves in second tier land. Party, the unquestioned leader of online poker is about to be surpassed by FTP and UB. My plans for serious bonus whoring days may be at an end though.
