I like all kinds of bets in this spot (I'm assuming its NL). Overbet looks like you are stealing. Half pot gives almost no info. Smaller bet may get a call then a raise from an overpair allowing you to then push and take a decent sized pot. With all these players and so early and at a $5 table, I either push representing the steal and hoping for a call from a nutflush or I bet small, looking for the raise. I'll say small bet here.

i find it the most paranoia filled play and the easiest to spot when the guy in first seat pots it on the flop. Often ill just give it up. I check...see what happens...if it looks dicey later on you can get away cheapely. likely hands you could be up against could be 45 56 A5...you can beat one of them. very_happy

well its multi way pot here with a 2suiter so ur hand is vulnerable(plus youre kicker), im probably looking to put a pot size bet in..chances are someone has a pair which u may get raised or called by someone who thinks there paint is good...If called and the 3suit comes u may have to reevaluate the scenariohappy

SUMMARY
Dealer: Archaia
Pot: $2,020
dikkky, loses $0
jacad, loses $140
gsmartin55, loses $0
MANWITNOPLAN, loses $140
mc84001, loses $140
Archaia, loses $40

FABESTER, loses $0
snoz1, loses $40

I figured with 7 players in SOMEONE would bet something, so checking with intent of checking-raising really held no danger of giving away a free card. A bunch of wussy $100 bets indicated that 555 probably had me ahead. Either that or I risked my whole tourney for no reason. I have no idea what I would do if someone pushed AI ahead of me, so that's a decent indication that my AI here was probably overly risky and a bet for about half my stack would have done.

PS- I think a half-pot bet is just begging for trouble here. I'm guessing that that would get at least 2 callers in this 7-way pot and I would have no idea where 555-8 kicker stands.
