Just got a notice from Titan they have closed my account and will no longer allow US players to deposit or play. I read on Full tilt that Pacific is also going to close us out.
I don't understand the sudden concern? It has always been illegal. Which is whay all the advertising was for the play money portions of the sites. There must be some teeth in this new legislation.
ive recieved emails from FTP and Party. FTP maintains it is not illegal to play online poker from the US. It seems to be the transfering of funds, not the game itself. ?
Sites that offer casino games as well are likely to panic and shut down to US players. PR (bwin) invested a lot of $$ to get into the US market, so they are likely to wait it out. Lawsuits are sure to be filed by someone, possibly Stars (they have only poker, right?) to claim that poker is not a part of Illegal Gaming. Neteller is sure to follow at some point if they are grouped into the banking part of the ban (are they? lil help here plz) The casino industry can profit from either outcome so chances are they will wait it out.
And the company that owns sportingbet--among others--has halted trading on its stock. They say the recent drop has them in loan default and they may no longer be a viable company.
To my knowledge, depositors there have never been reimbursed. They should be though as their funds should be in escrow account the company can touch.
