So I'm down to 3 handed in a 10+1 MTT, I have 22k in chips in BB, SB has about 240k, button has 55k. Button was big chip leader early on but is now short, SB is LAG, has been up and down in chips, and has been pushing preflop frequently with his big stack recently. I have a TAG image at the table at this point, worst hand I have shown so far at the table was 55 when i was short and pushed. 2 hands prior I ko'd 4th place when I showed down JJ preflop. I get dealt 88. Button pushes AI, SB calls, I call. Flop comes 455 two clubs. SB checks, i bet 50k, SB pushes AI. What would you do???

I think you must have meant you have 220K, since you are betting more than 22K there. I fold to the checkraise there, hoping that at least he takes out the button.

I'm not opposed to folding here, but your read says he's LAG and this is a LAG play on his part, so I call.

As it turns out, I folded, he turned over A4, button had A3. Turn and river were both a 6 for a chop pot. This was the hand that ended up costing me the win, sigh..... Ended up finishing 2nd for a little less than 500. In hindsight, I probably would've called as my read was that he either had a club draw or a four, but I just chickened out.

I would have played it as you only had to beat the bigger stack to make money, the small stack couldn't take you out. He was isolating to go heads up. Loose raise but not bad against a single opponent if you get heads up.

I probably fold. No real reason to risk your shot at 1st on an overpair with a board pair and both draws in play.

im with space, if i was in ur situation i would have folded. I dont like risking much when theres a lot at stake. Thats maybe why im not that great at shorthanded
