it can get fuzzy at first
it is easy to get a low counterfited.
say you have A35x hand and a the flop is 278 w and the turn brings the three and the other guy had A4. He's now got you beat and the best possible low. I still have to think about that at O8 and can even then not fold going for the low. I did a blog about OH but a lot of it applies to O8.

I am still green as grass at Omaha but it is an interesting game.

The Colutier and McVoy book is a great one for someone to use that's played a lot of other poker. It gets you going quickly.

A2345 takes the nut low. The most I've ever lost on one hand of poker in my life was playing A2346 into the wheel.

You pretty much shouldn't play to chase the low without A2 in your hand. If the flop comes with a 2 you are counterfitted the best low draw hand would be A234 allowing you to be protected from counterfitting. You have to be careful that you do not get quartered by someone who has the same hand as you end up losing money with the winning low. You are better off with AA23 double suited as you have many redraws. Starting hands are extremely important in Omaha. You should not get involved unless you have several ways to make a hand and redraws to the nuts.

The advantage to playing a hand with the low draw is that you can scoop the pot. I often get confused in Omaha hi/lo after playing Hold Em.
