2 things.

1) Why did you check your BB? Is it because raising is just such a waste of time in the BB in that situation?

2) Why didn't Elvis call for .25 more? He was getting 11 - 1 for his money there and warrants a call from the SB with any two cards. Doesn't it?

1. It would only be for sweetening the pot and if the cards fitted then I woouldn't get that much action. As it was I was behind after the flop.

2. Elvis is super tight, this is the second time I have played with him. Why he is playing these stakes, I don't know.

I would have to raise pre-flop there. Going into the flop 6-handed and UTG doesn't really breed success, even with bullets.

But isn't everyone just going to call one more bet if they put one in already? Then you're still 6 handed but any flop bet gives better (well, 6 handed it would be correct) odds to chase a draw.

At 50-$1 betting into the crowd is about useless in the BB. No body is folding PP to a single raise, if someone will reraise you than it is worth pushing to maybe knock someone out. You almost need a minimum of trips to take down a hand with all those calling stations.

I posted an article from card player recently about no raising preflop in this kind of situation.
Good article

I didn't raise, preflop, because it would have shown the strength of my hand and given me limited advantage. Not raising got me 2 extra bets on the river, which funny enough would have been the extra if I'd done it preflop.
So what was right is anyones guess.

I can see the reason for not raising.

I was also wondering if you had've raised from the BB, what chance would someone re-raise and get the betting capped.

If the betting was going to get capped, what is the likely hood of people folding because of the 'Squeeze Play' effect.

Don't you need to reduce the number of opponents with AA?

Or does this just not happen at that level?

If he raises, not 1 person will fold to an extra bet. Like you said, he would need a limper to reraise for that to happen.
All a raise does is build a massive pot.
