I went to Derby to play in the Pokah tournament, about 45 people from here went and a great time was had by all. The Friday night we played with the locals and on my table we had to call the floor manager across a couple of times for rulings. One was when a local bet blind, not looking at his cards, and then stated that he couldn't be raised. (He could) Well pokah was well represented on the final table and won by one. The next day was only pokah players allowed, and who should turn up but our very own Leezhurd, what a dame! I don't remember much about the poker, I know I didn't win anything but it was a great time, it puts playing in front of a computer screen into the pale.It is a pity I have to travel a 1000 miles to find a casino.
I host a live home game every fortnight and always have fun.
Unfortunately the law here doesn't allow me to host bigger games and the 10 player ones we have now are pushing it a bit.
I spoke with the Australian Poker League and asked them if they wanted a tournament director in my state. I've got a good business but I'm pretty sick of it, and I'm looking for the next thing in my life.
The APL run free tournaments with a national leader board. They told me the laws here don't allow their tournaments to be run here.
I've got enough chips to run 70 player tournaments with starting stacks of 5000.
