Hmmm, curiouser and curiouser. To tell the truth I thought this was just something wrong with the leaderboards as OPR & scope showed nothing...but now it looks like these accounts are playing...hmmm, decided to delve some more.

But to save you looking the player's name is:

& amp;clint

This player also came 26th in the royal on the 16 March 2008.

I google "& amp" with "poker" and get this tourney

...from the 2nd April 2008 and see

Death & amp;

came 43rd

As the buy-ins are all in the $1 - $10 range and the finishes that I can find are either no cash or small cash I'm still not too concerned.

If I google "& amp;" and "html" there appears to be a number of articles about ampersand "&" being rendered in html as & a m p ;

Okay, so now I'm thinking, nothing to worry about, its just the pages not displaying ampersands correctly. Not a multi-accounter just lots of people that like to start and finish their names with ampersands, e.g. & & another &&

But it still doesn't answer why the top 3 in the SNG ladder leaderboard, who head it by a very large margin all share the ampersand disease.

So, then I OPR'd the first part "& amp".

With "& amp" I find:

& amp; & amp; & amp; & amp; & amp; & amp;
& amp;FRANKY4 & amp;
& amp; & amp;JUERGI & amp; & amp;
& amp;butrus

WOW and UH-OH!

All showing as ongame players but no results except for all of them playing a few small tournies between 8-13 Feb 2007.

Strange but dead-ended.

From the dates I'm guessing that there is nothing to be too concerned about but still strange...

I'm surprised you can have ampersands in names. I would hazard a guess that the programmers would be surprised to learn this too. very_happy

Yes, indeed. I'd never heard of QNX before, Mouse, but from wikipedia I see it's based on Unix [which seemed likely from the name]. In linux, and so probably in all Unix-type systems, putting an ampersand after the command makes it run in the background.

This sounds very strange to me.

Ofcourse there might be some problems with the leaderboard showing test-accounts on the leaderboard, but the fact that one of these players has been playing in a tourney makes it interesting.

The top 3 players on the leaderboard are obviously not real player accounts. I find it very hard to believe, that any player would have a lead of ten times more points (not to mention a hundred times more) than the 4th place on.

Finding these players in regular tournament results is really confusing, bc there is a VERY LITTLE chance, that the are not test-accounts

Interesting to see what happens.

So I sent this link and an email to the tournaments guys as well as the Dev crew.

We'll see what they come back with and I will update you. I'm not sure I'll have anything concrete for you today.

well i think you need to give out a free tourney ticket for bringing up this to your attention since you have no real answer yet no matter what it leads to be happyits in your best intrest more than them wink

Well, they have been removed from the leaderboard, so I assume its been fixed...would just be interested to know what the issue was.

well if they got removed then i think somebody deserves a ticket ... since they were not supposed to be there
