TEAM PLAY SUGGESTIONS

Apr 14, 2008 09:52 AM. Post 1
GAMES REP, MODS

I took a good, long look at each teamplay event for the next two weeks. Simply appalling!! It appears there was certainly no thought put into April's Teamplay schedule.

Whoever thought up these team games for April must have had help from children all wanting their own way ... there are games running concurrently and overlap when there is absolutely no need for it. There are 3 days this week - 15th, 16th & 17th - and 3 next week - 22nd, 23rd, 24th - when there are NO team games at all. The big question is - WHY? Why all the overlapping when some of the events could have been played on the dates listed above? Stupidity beyond belief!!

I have no problem with the games themselves, but one game at a time please. If the 3 days per week that have no teamplay was the result of the eSport and Bandpoker using the lobby, might I suggest that a different lobby be introduced strictly for the eSport and Bandpoker games and leave the TeamPlay lobby for regular teamplay only.

The times team games are played is also relevant, why in the world were they put back 1 hour, if anything, they should have been 1 hour earlier. That being said, I do realize that satisfying everyone is no easy task, but with all the posts about the later times creating such an issue, why not change the times back 1 or 2 hours?

If, and I stress IF, the suggestion for a 5-day teamplay event is put into play, feedback may be good or bad, it all depends on the buyin and the time played, and how many rounds per day this event would encompass ... and if more than 1 round, for the love of mike, play them AT LEAST 2 hours apart - ie: Round 1 - 5:00 pm , Round 2 - 7:00 pm (EDT).

I hope this thread gets some kind of response from Games Rep, mods and/or other team players.

UK, I am well known for my verbosity, when I have something to say I say it. I like to be thorough so that my statements do not come across as ambiguous, that the reader knows immediately the point I am trying to get across. Ergo, my posts are often quite lengthy, but I am who I am and the way I am.

BTW, the times I mentioned in my post were only an example.

Where is Games Rep's reply, I am still waiting with bated breath (hope I don't turn blue).

Old schedule

Mon. 5pm EST 2day 2 round 5 entrant (fine with 4 teams minimum) $500 gtee

Mon 10pm EST 2day 2rnd 5ent $500 gtee

Wed same as monday

Friday 5pm freeroll 2day 2round 8 entrant (noone cares about this) $1000 gtee

Saturday 5pm 1day 1rnd 5ent $500 gtee

Sunday 3:30pm (i think) 1day 3 rnd (rnds 1 hour apart) 6 ent $1000 gtee

people seemed ok with this. dropping the freeroll for the monthly 3k sounds good, maybe replace the freeroll with a $1k gtee too.

Not too fussy, but that was good spacing. I'm personnaly not a fan of the 3rnders on weekdays.

GAMES REP

I will comment on each game as follows:

1. I could find no $500 Guaranteed on Apr 28th on the Events list. However, one is listed for Apr 26/27 and if that is the one referred to, I see no problem with that event.

2. As this is a new event, it will be interesting to see how many teams register to play. Start times are great. From the info available, I assume that it would be a "winner take all", regardless of the number of teams entered. However, if this event has 6 or more teams entered, will the payout be split, and if so, then I do not foresee this event going anywhere, not enough bang for your buck.

3. Again, a new event with great start times except .... if teams are playing Round 2 on Day 2 of the $50+5 and play runs longer than 1 1/2 hours (which is quite plausible), then overlapping will occur. Frankly, I see both of these events falling by the wayside within a couple of months (if that long).

4. The times for this event are great for Canadians, but certainly not for the UK/European players as it is the middle of the night there. But regardless of the start time, I reiterate what I said in 2. above.

5. Good.

6 & 7. Should 6-10 teams enter these two events, play time would most likely overlap.

8. Start time a bit too late for the UK/European players as the last round would mean they play at 1:30am or 2:30am, which is quite late, especially for those that work the next day.

You are a new Games Rep and I think you are honestly trying your best to satisfy everyone, and for that I applaud you. However, having said that, I am still puzzled by this 2-games on the same days which may cause a lot of overlapping, depending on the number of teams playing.

Why not simply run ONE game at a time, whether it be a 2-day 2-rounder, or a 1-day 3-rounder? You can still mix the games throughout the week so there is an assortment to choose from.

My overinflated 4 cents worth.

Have a great day!very_happyvery_happy

Thanks for your feedback Kolinar and Sufur.. sorry there is no tourney scheduled for the 28th. I just took a weeks example so that we could figure out the best times to run daily team play events (for the whole week).

I'm not at work now, but will look into this first thing tomm morn. Hope we get more feedbacks by then!!

See you guys tomm and good luck at the tables!!

Isnt the simplest thing to do is simply spread them out a bit for example this week again we have 3 nights of no team play and yet another weekend with a possible 3 tournaments running at the same time which obviously caused the cancelled game last week of not enough teams wanting to register to all 3.Also its seems to be a general opinion that the games could be an hour earlierhappy
