_f00bar_ finishes first in another fantastic WSOP final

May 1, 2008 12:00 AM. Post 1
With BEATME x, Wieringen, and IchbinGott already booking their places at the WSOP Main Event over the weekend, Monday night saw another 36 players registering in a WSOP Final for their chance to win the $17500 WSOP package.

After 2 hours of play 26 players found themselves on the wrong side of the rail and the final table came together.

The final table;

gringos - 25,260 in chips
johnyy777 x - 15,630 in chips
darth V - 13,398 in chips
IrinaMaria - 11,121 in chips
_f00bar_ - 10,985 in chips
jayinch - 8,565 in chips
WhamBamTySir - 7,861 in chips
ufi5ufi5 - 7,840 in chips
5FingersWast - 4,920 in chips
halfday3 - 2,420 in chips

IrinaMaria and 5FingersWast were the first to be bundled off the final table, and johnyy777 x, WhamBamTySir, and halfday3 all followed in quick succession to leave only 5 players standing.

_f00bar_ then moved from an average stack to the chip leader when his full house, K’s over J’s, won him a huge three-way pot. _f00bar_ then increased his stack up to 52,645 in chips when his paired J was enough to knock out ufi5ufi5 in 5th spot and send the play to four-handed.

The final four;

_f00bar_ - 56,785 in chips
gringos - 23,460 in chips
darth V - 14,018 in chips
jayinch - 13,737 in chips

At the 2 and-a-half hour mark jayinch pushed all-in pre-flop and darth V, who could just cover jayinch’s stack, made the call. jayinch turned over 7h Jd and was in big trouble when darth V turned over pocket A’s. When the flop showed 4c As Ks any hope for jayinch was extinguished and darth V just about doubled up.

It wasn’t long before another all-in showdown, this time between gringos and chip leader _f00bar_. With 6k in the pot and the flop showing 6h Kc 9c, _f00bar_ bet out 7k with gringos calling. 5d came out on the turn and _f00bar_ turned up the heat by betting out 20K. gringos went all in over the top with 22K and _f00bar_ called the extra 2k.
The players turned over their cards and gringos showed Kd Qd for top pair, but _f00bar_ showed Kh 9s giving him the lead with two pair.

Gringos’s only chance to stay alive was to hit a Q on the river, but when it showed 3s _f00bar_ took another nice pot and went into heads-up with 79,745 in chips compared to darth V’s 31, 255.

darth V tried hard to claw back same advantage, but after 10 minutes of heads-up play the players’ stacks hadn’t really changed.

The final hand played out with darth V sitting on 22k in chips and _f00bar_ on just over 85k. With blinds at 600/1200_f00bar_ raised it to 2.4k from the small blind and darth V chucked in the extra 1.2k to call.

The flop showed 6s 8c Qh and_f00bar_ bet out 2K before darth V raised it to 20k, pushing all-in over the top. It was 18k for _f00bar_ to make the call, but he quickly chucked his chips in and turned over pocket A’s. darth V showed Qc Ts and he was going to need more than just the force to save him.

The turn then showed 7s with no help for darth V, and with a 7d dropping on the river _f00bar_ took the win and the $17500 package.
