darth V Uses The Force to Book a Seat to the WSOP

May 6, 2008 05:01 AM. Post 1
37 players turned out for Saturday's WSOP online finals, all hoping that
the poker gods would bless them with the perfect mixture of cards and luck necessary
to take down the top prize of a $17,500 prize package to the 2008 WSOP.

Notable names in the field included nammer4life (who represented
Team PokerRoom at the 2007 WSOPE) and THEASH (2007 WSOP), as
well as players who have been regulars in the WSOP online finals of late such
as –Rex Cramer- and sykora.pat.

Early action was fast-paced and before you knew it, voila, a final table:

Seat 1: Bjoern0425 ($7,365 in chips)
Seat 2: snakes88 ($8,190 in chips)
Seat 3: romauro41 ($34,647 in chips)
Seat 4: Schelm27 ($12,150 in chips)
Seat 5: bura7 ($490 in chips)
Seat 6: yoyo6401 ($16,533 in chips)
Seat 7: russchampio ($7,790 in chips)
Seat 8: darth V ($8,680 in chips)
Seat 9: Shulgi ($7,055 in chips)
Seat 10: winnerdewinn ($8,100 in chips)

Both yoyo6401 and romauro41 made big moves
at the final table, eliminating players to boost their stacks, and were well-positioned
when the final table had been cut in half:

Seat 3: romauro41 ($28,147 in chips)
Seat 6: yoyo6401 ($38,103 in chips)
Seat 7: russchampio ($20,200 in chips)
Seat 8: darth V ($15,020 in chips)
Seat 9: Shulgi ($9,530 in chips)

Shulgi was bounced in 5th and romauro41 was
the next to leave the building, knocked out in 4th when his Ad 9d ran into
yoyo6401’s Ac Qc, with all the money going into the middle pre-flop.
darth V held a 2-1 chip lead over his nearest competitor when
3 handed action began and that lead only grew when he and russchampio
found themselves all in before the flop. russchampio held Ah
Ts but was up against a much bigger hand in the form of darth V’s
Kc Kh. No help for russchampio on a board of 6h 4s 2d 7d 4h,
and darth V took down another big pot and a huge lead in heads-up
play:

Seat 6: yoyo6401 ($22,712 in chips)
Seat 8: darth V ($88,288 in chips)

And, just like that, it was done, just two hands into heads-up play. After
throwing in a raise pre-flop, yoyo6401 led out again on a flop
of 2c Th 6d after darth V checked to him. darth V,
however, check-raised enough to put yoyo6401 all-in, who dwelled
a bit before making the call.

darth V found himself ahead holding Js 10s, as yoyo6401
tabled Ac 2s, and the turn and river of 9d and 4d changed nothing, giving the
victory and the $17,500 WSOP seat to darth V, with yoyo6401
collecting $566 + a ticket for his second place finish.
