dompoker59 is the Toast of Friday’s WSOP Online Finals

May 21, 2008 08:47 AM. Post 1
Friday saw another crowded house at the WSOP online finals, with the tournament
filled to max capacity of 42 players, all chasing the top prize of a $17,500
prize package to the 2008 WSOP.
trojan22 xx jumped out to an early lead and action had played
down to a final table by the second break, with czatam and
dompoker59 neck-and-neck for the chip lead:
Seat 1: czetam ($18,732 in chips)
Seat 2: stakks ($12,860 in chips)
Seat 3: nilex0303 ($15,035 in chips)
Seat 4: claychips123 ($15,912 in chips)
Seat 5: sUrala ($2,650 in chips)
Seat 6: sangu81 ($8,796 in chips)
Seat 7: dompoker59 ($18,075 in chips)
Seat 8: bolbito ($9,950 in chips)
Seat 9: E.D woopass ($17,600 in chips)
Seat 10: Rougeetnoir1 ($6,290 in chips)
With the final table trimmed in half, here’s what the stacks looked like:
Seat 1: czetam ($33,493 in chips)
Seat 2: stakks ($30,710 in chips)
Seat 3: nilex0303 ($32,370 in chips)
Seat 7: dompoker59 ($17,787 in chips)
Seat 10: Rougeetnoir1 ($11,640 in chips)
Rougeetnoir1 has been a regular at the final tables of late
for the WSOP packages, but his run would end in 4th place, bounced out when
his As Jh ran into dompoker59’s Ah Kc.
nilex0303 was the next to leave, finishing 3rd in a pivotal
hand that would propel his opponent dompoker59 into a big chip
lead over the rest of the field. nilex0303 raised pre-flop,
dompoker59 re-raised, and nilex0303 made the
call.
dompoker59 led out for a big bet on a flop of 6s 9c Kc and
nilex0303 made the call. The turn was the 7d, dompoker59
shoved all-in (barely covering nilex0303), and nilex0303
made the call.
nilex03030 was holding Ac 10c for a flush draw/gutshot straight
draw and found himself up against dompoker59’s Ad Ah,
who needed to dodge clubs and an 8 for his pocket rockets to hold.
And hold they did when the Kh fell on the river, giving dompoker59
a big pot and the lead in three-handed action:
Seat 1: czetam ($8,753 in chips)
Seat 2: stakks ($31,230 in chips)
Seat 7: dompoker59 ($86,017 in chips)
Short-stacked, czetam was forced to quickly make a move and
shove with his Qh 10h, but once again a player had the misfortune to run into
dompoker59 sitting on a big hand, this time Ah Kh which held
up to eliminate czetam in 3rd.
stakks got a much needed double early in heads-up action when
she turned trip 5s to cut dompoker59’s lead to roughly
75,000 chips to 50,000, and actually managed to chip up to even up matters at
one point.
dompoker59 kept the pressure on, though, and kept catching
cards to slowly build up his lead again, sitting on about 97,000 chips versus
stakks’ 28,000 when the final hand played out.
With no raises pre-flop, the players saw a flop of Ts 5c 6h. stakks
checked, dompoker59 bet 2,000, and stakks
check-raised all-in, for about 26,000 more. dompoker59 quickly
called and once again tabled a huge hand, this time Ks Kc.
stakks did have some outs with As 10c but the 9d on the turn
and the 3c on the river sealed the victory and $17,500 prize package for dompoker59,
with stakks collecting $1,253 + a ticket for her second place
finish.
