skiebeast Has a Monster Run in the WSOP Online Finals - by Seth Shafer

Jun 10, 2008 07:40 AM. Post 1
40 players turned out to do battle in Friday’s WSOP online finals at PokerRoom,
with only one player walking away at the end of the day with a $17,500 prize
package to the 2008 WSOP Main Event.
The field included former Team PokerRoom.com members retypeNick,
whassup x, Firework, and Gutenburg1,
but none were still standing when the final table was reached. With the field
further trimmed down to five, here’s how things stacked up:
Seat 3: LillMonster ($13,215 in chips)
Seat 4: Iron_Iron ($8,350 in chips)
Seat 5: curvanord-69 ($15,320 in chips)
Seat 8: pirelli11 ($70,965 in chips)
Seat 10: skiebeast ($12,150 in chips)
pirelli11 knocked out LillMonster in 5th
when pirelli11’s Jd 10d came from behind (spiking a 10
on the river) to take down LillMonster’s As Kc. curvanord-69
was the next to hit the rails, finishing 4th when he found himself all-in pre-flop
with skiebeast, with curvanord-69’s
Kh 10s falling to skiebeast’s Ad 5d.
Iron_Iron nursed his short stack to 3rd place before finally
falling to pirelli11, which set up the following heads-up match
with the $17,500 prize package hanging in the balance:
Seat 8: pirelli11 ($78,905 in chips)
Seat 10: skiebeast ($41,095 in chips)
They traded blows for more than 70 hands, with the lead see-sawing back and
forth before skiebeast found himself leading with a 3-1 chip
advantage when the final hand went down.
pirelli11 shoved pre-flop with Qc 10s and skiebeast looked
him up with As 8c. An ace on the turn sealed the deal for skibeast,
who took down the victory and the $17,500 prize package for first, with pirelli11
settling for 2nd ($586 + a finals ticket) after a hard-fought heads-up battle.
