Windows Task Manager - Processes

Does anyone know an easy way to check your processes and figure out which ones are ok to End?

I have anywhere from 40-50 running at all times and it seems high.

Best bet, go to Sysinternals and get a utility called Process Explorer. It will show you exactly what is running and anything that's suspicious will show up in red. You can google them from there to find out if it should be dealt with.

You can kill a lot of crap just by going to...

Start
Run
Type in msconfig
When the System Configuration Utility comes up
Click the startup tab.
Start unchecking boxes.
Click apply, and restart your computer.
