Hi folks,

I’ve got some important information to share with you all regarding the expiry time for some tickets.

From today onwards, anyone who wins a ChampionChip final qualifier, a bounty final qualifier or a $500+40 ticket, will win a ticket valid for only 25 days and not the standard 60 days.

This decision was made in order to encourage players to use their tickets at the first possible opportunity instead of hanging on to the ticket and sometimes missing out on using the tickets…

There will be reminders of this change posted in the tournament description of the affected tournaments.

Please be advised that if you were to miss your opportunity to use your tickets and they do expire PokerRoom.com will act very strict.

I'm sure that this change won't have to big an effect on most players! wink

How exciting!

But why the seemingly random choice of 25 days?

Why not make it 25 hours? Or 25 minutes?

Or better yet, since "this change won't have to big an effect on most players" (sic), why not just select the tourney for the player at random? Think of the excitement of players monitoring PR wondering when the tourney they qualified for will start. If a player wins a ticket, they should just get an email telling them to sit by the computer until the tourney pops up. Talk about convenient!

Could even just make them expire instantly , im sure nobody would hang onto them endlessly and miss the tourney that way!

Please don't insult our intelligence. How will a ticket that expires sooner help us to avoid "missing out on using the tickets"? Now if something unexpected comes up that stops me from playing in the tournament I've qualified for, I'm screwed. Thanks PokerRoom.


Personally it will mean I'll play less qualifiers.

Has PR really lost it??
This is a 500+40 ticket FFS!
If PR really wants help players with not missing out on this tournament, the most logical thing to do is to valid that ticket to 120 days, why shorten it to 25 days!? it doesnt make any sense! how is that going to help us??

This may be a really dumb question happy but as the CC and Bounty are monthly tournaments...what happens if you win a final ticket the day after the previous final has run...will it expire before the next tournament? surprised

For example, say a Bounty takes place on 1st Jan. On 2nd Jan you win a Bounty ticket...surely it will expire before the next Bounty?

...or am I missing something here?
