This is getting comical. I've made my feelings known regarding PR's decision to change the entry for the last CC. My prediction is that this is PR's next step into getting rid of the CC and WSOP tourneys.

In the past, I would play some qualifiers because I knew that I would be able to play in one of the tourneys in the next few months. 25 days, what a joke. I for one will be VERY selective in playing qualifiers, as I suspect many others will be. I guess PR wants less money from the qualifiers.

I've gotta say, I just don't understand the logic on this one. I, for example, work nights and can't guarentee I will get the first sunday of the month off. All this has done has taken away my opportunity to use my ticket at a later date, potentially rendering my hard earned ticket useless. And that's just from one person's perspective. I'm sure there's plenty more if you ask. I thought the entry fee change was bad enough...Now THIS??

Pokerroom, seriously... What are you REALLY trying to do here?

exactly the same for me beard. my shift pattern is one that might not allow me to be available for say the CC final but would make me available for the next so the 25 day expiry date is total ********. why why why does pokerroom resort to such kneejerk reactions? they have a forum here and i have to say that it is a brilliant forum so why the **** dont they use it and ask their customers what they want before implementing such things!!

SHAME ON POKERROOM.

PR, I'm afraid this smacks of utter bollocks. People are more likely to miss out on using a ticket for a monthly tournament if they have other unavoidable commitments which arise after qualification. It's quite obvious there are difficulties in generating the 500K necessary for the ChampionChip so all you're actually doing is cutting out the first 5/6 days after the previous one when people could be playing qualifiers for it. It's a short term strategy which will do nothing to encourage the long term future of the ChampionChip. Cutting the expiry on the WSOPE $540 tickets won't make a lot of difference but it's a bit patronising to suggest anyone won't prioritise the day they have decided to play. I imagine it may eventually lead to more players actually qualifying for the WSOPE event but if that's your aim you'll be running the online finals more frequently nearer the time.

Yours sincerely,

a slightly disillusioned Cluu.

Can I guess how this has come about wink very_happy

Monthly meeting at PR HQ

Head honcho: agenda item no.6...the ChampionChip tournament...have the buy-ins been raised to $350+25?

IT honcho: yep, all systems changed boss happy

Head honcho: any other problems?

IT: nope, all systems were go, boss!

Customer Relations Manager: ...errr...well...erm, it didn't go down well with the player base :/

Head honcho: really? why not? didn't we set up those exchange thingys?

IT: sure did boss wink very_happy

CRM: well, apparently some players were upset that they had only been given 24hrs notice to use their old tickets...that they were being asked to qualify again...and some said that as they weren't due to expire for another 59 days they should be allowed to play at the new buy-in level with their old tickets...

Accountant: *cough* costs *cough*

Head honcho: hmmm, so what can we do? Did the players have any other alternatives? It's always moan moan moan...

CRM: they all suggested tournament dollars once again

Accountant: think of the implementation costs

IT: think of the bugs! and the fixes! we'll be upgrading every day!

Head honcho: hmmm, let's brainstorm people...blue sky thinking!

CRM: well, err, we could give them more notice of a major buy-in change so that they can easily use their old tickets...but 60 days, is that feasible?

<tumbleweeds>

IT: we could reduce the expiry time for the tickets...?

Accountant: now that sounds like a cheap solution! happy

Head honcho: perfect, do it!

Head honcho: now, moving on to the next tournament on the agenda..."the next live event, probably in London but we can't actually say" tournament, WTF, wsope was much catchier!...

very_happy

I think Pokah is the saving grace, I almost certainly wouldn't be on this site at all, if it wasn't for the Pokah regulars and sense of community.

Seems to be bad choice after bad choice.

One last rant / suggestion :

Why doesn't PokerRoom utilise it's community and reputation. Have tournament dollars and introduce some poker tournaments (I know extreme) with deeper starting stacks (like every other site does for $20+ tourneys) and if we must insist on nonsense such as mad tilt turbo bingo, can they atleast add a new tab for such?

I forget the name of the deepstack series PokerRoom tried for a while but that is exactly the kind of thing we need.

Champion Chip: Is ok, nice idea but not deepstacked or good enough structure for such a high stake tourney.

The Bounty: as far as I could see, was only one bounty and he was one of the first people out?

Anyway I'm off now, going to go and play some Poker! but may call in later
