I felt Fred dissed me a bit when he brought back the 1 round event with no guarantee. The way i see it, Im happy for pr to not giv us pp! I'll just blow that in the silverroom anyway! But i sure as hell aint makin room in my little black book for a heads up 'team' game. Anyway, Im pretty drunk so Im going to do another poll. If somebodys feels like i have stolen their 'joke', well, i probably hav!

Damn you hijackers. I thought i had 30 posts of decent discussion, but no.

Spot, the reason i dont play much team games is because they are boring as hell. Add the fact that it pays about 50p/hour and its an easy choice. We will play for fun tho, a couple of times a month. It certainly isnt soley for the $, as pretty much all of the team could be making more money else where.

Lyk, thank you for posting your thoughts, the fact that we play different shouldnt matter. And please try to keep results based thinking out of your head, i know its hard because i posted the thread, something must be up, but try to ignore that when thinking about the hand.

Ill post some of my thoughts and a bit more of the HH soon.

Normally I think I'd go with a big C/R, but my impression of the double or nothings is that people play a lot more cautiously. If that's the case, I think you need to donk about 3/4 to pot and hope you get raised. If you do, even from the PF minraise, I think I'm looking to shovel.

If merely called reevaluate on the turn.

Ok, had my bacon, brain working.

I treat SnGs as a marathon, not a sprint. Im not looking for an early double up. Im not looking to play any fancy poker. Simple ABC poker with survival in mind.

In this hand, im not worried about getting outdrawn, but, i am worried about being behind already. AK and K9 are both definately in their ranges. If im ahead, then they only have 7 outs max, more likely 4 outs. Not to mention that we are all proberly holding some of everyones outs.

Its still early, so pot control is key for me. I dont want to be in any huge mulit-way pots unless i have the nuts.

Check-raising im sure would work. Id expect a bet from someone, but that builds a pig pot and commits me to the hand.

So i decided i would check-call a reasonable bet, and see what happens.

Seat 1: _Pretorian_ ($1,385 in chips)
Seat 2: ratty_2004 ($2,035 in chips) (89o)
Seat 3: mdv50 ($1,470 in chips)
Seat 4: Exkalibur28 ($2,990 in chips)
Seat 6: donvin1 ($1,140 in chips)
Seat 7: hdmfox ($1,455 in chips)
Seat 8: germanchef ($3,265 in chips)
Seat 10: driller987 ($1,260 in chips)

ANTES/BLINDS
ratty_2004 posts blind ($15), mdv50 posts blind ($30).

PRE-FLOP
Exkalibur28 bets $60, donvin1 folds, hdmfox folds, germanchef calls $60, driller987 calls $60, _Pretorian_ folds, ratty_2004 calls $45, mdv50 folds.

FLOP [board cards: JS,QD,TC ]
ratty_2004 checks, Exkalibur28 checks, germanchef checks, driller987 bets $210, ratty_2004 calls $210, Exkalibur28 calls $210, germanchef bets $420, driller987 bets $990 and is all-in, ratty_2004...

What do you make of the hand now?

For me, now it's a fold. Because it's a double or nothing and top 5 paid I would fold and let these two go at it. You still have a good stack to sit back and wait for spots.

I probably still would have check-raised allin though. happy

I don't think I agree with check-calling but i guess it isn't a bad idea. I think I'm raising 100% after the bet of 210, tho. As played, I guess you have to fold. I'd be most worried about germanchef and even the original raiser could have AK here. The odds that you're ahead and it will hold can't be much more than 60%, I don't think that's enough to call.

Im not sure if i agree either, thats why i posted. happy

I just dont like big pots early in SnGs, unless i have the nuts. I just played another one of these, and i folded QQ preflop on the first hand to a reraise.

I used to love SnGs, before they were 8min levels. Thats where i built my BR and learned to play poker.

In most cases in a SnG, tight is right, and tighter is righter.

If you get allin on that flop vs all 3 players, i think half the deck would kill you.

Well for a full analysis; nobody commented of your pf call of 98 oop. Which I think is ok bc it plays reasonabily easy postflop and has some ok implied odds, but it should have be mentioned imo when analysed happy.

Im checkraising here since i think the chanches of a 3/4 to potbet are about 90% on this flop. With the 210 bet im shoving.

As played, yeah considering its a dbl or nothing its probably a fold.

Btw, I find Kims comment in the first post hilarious. It states a thing common here for some people (so no dont take this personal Kim). Strat corner is to dicuss hands. If you discuss your own hands you will get comments of ppl who will play hands different. You will be killed if someone thinks you played your hand outright stupid. You will be complimented if someone actually learned a bit from your analysis. If you cant cope with the 1st of that, you shouldnt post here at all and fk off imo.

(sorry for this tone of mentioning, its just its so fking ridiculous and irritating to read this rubbish. So I do feel it needs to be said. I actually kind of like the strat corner when there is actual analysis. Nevermind the quality of some hands and poor analysis (ic not fully) and the bad beats hidden as strat posts (which is sad. Its just some of you posters here so fk this corner up.)

Have a nice evening happy

I fold preflop.. it's a double or nothing and you just have to finish in the first 5... even though it is an annoying gayraise which I love to punish I'd get out of the way preflop and let the other guys battle it out.. but only because it's a double or nothing..

I've finished ITM twice in these without playing a single big pot simply because a lot of the players in these have zero understanding of the strategy needed.. they are too eager to leave..

and spot.. you should be thankful that the Regulators don't play every event.. if I didn't respect the elders I'd tell you to GFY for your comments on my team...

What Jeff said surprised

No offence kim, the straw that broke the camel's back wink

I don't see an issue with calling with 98o here, you're basically looking for a minimum risk spot to win a big pot. This is really the only "bad" spot you can be in with this hand
