PAJAPATAK1 Hears London Calling

Aug 19, 2008 02:26 AM. Post 1
91 players turned out for Saturday’s Team London online finals, which would not only stamp one player’s passport with a $26,500 prize package to a major live poker event in London but would also pay out plenty of cash and tickets to the top 20 finishers.

Serving as a testament to just how amazing a time it is to attend a live event with Team PokerRoom, the starting field was chock full of former Team members including dj_stiff, billybillard, Pokahovec, THEASH, bigbalu67, Wieringen, MickeMusxxx, AKplus, fanslau, and 8kenzo8.

g.adsk94 held the lead at the first break, with denizvr6 leading the way at the 2nd break. Here’s how the final table players stacked up, shortly after the final table lineup was set:

denizvr6 - 47,726
PAJAPATAK1 - 39,310
teddyjedi06 - 36,464
johnyy777 x - 28,550
maxibon111 x - 27,341
g.adsk94 - 27,213
hexana27 - 18,808
admirawacker - 17,600
kephs - 15,630
majindboy - 14,358

The field quickly played down to four remaining players (PAJAPATAK1, teddyjedi06, kephs, and admirawacker), but things stalled out there, as no one appeared to want to leave and the players traded chips amongst themselves for quite awhile despite numerous all-ins and calls.

With action finally down to heads-up, here were the stacks:

Seat 4: PAJAPATAK1 ($109,676 in chips)
Seat 7: teddyjedi06 ($163,324 in chips)

Just 3 hands into heads-up play the two tangled in a huge pot that effectively decided the outcome. With roughly equal stacks and blinds of 2,000/4,000, PAJAPATAK1 just completed from the SB pre-flop and teddyjedi06 checked, with the two seeing a flop of 10s 4s 7c.

teddyjedi06 led out for 4,000 and PAJAPATAK1 called, with a seemingly harmless 3h falling on the turn. Action exploded, though, with raises and re-raises and all of the chips flying into the middle.

teddyjedi06 held 10c 2c for top pair but PAJAPATAK1 was well ahead with 3s 7s for two pair, plus a flush draw. Teddyjedi06 needed help on the river but none was to be had when the 5s fell, giving PAJAPATAK1 a huge pot and leaving teddyjei06 with just 6,000 chips.

PAJAPATAK1 finished him off the next hand to take down the pot, the tournament victory, and the $26,500 top prize, with teddyjedi06 collecting $4,370 + a finals ticket for his second place finish.

Rounding out the top five were admirawacker in 3rd ($2,622 + a ticket), kephs in 4th ($1,748 + a ticket) and denisvr6 in 5th (a finals ticket).
