$108 short mtt

Sep 5, 2008 12:50 PM. Post 1
How do you respond to the mini-raise on the flop? Couldn`t just give him credit for a set, I felt. Sometimes they wil have it, but can also be Jx,6x,5x, PP`s and str8-draws. I guess overcards can be a posiblilty too. I bet 1/2 pot on turn, but I think that was too little. Thoughts? TEXAS_HOLDEM, NO_LIMIT, T4-75798444-1

Yep, mini raises on flop are usually spew and deserve little respect. Yeah, probably 3/4 pot on turn for me as it should give you more info. I check behind on river if he check calls the turn bet.

78o or 5x mort?

Im guessing by stacks thisis the first hand so no reads?

His min-raise could mean a few things like you said, why not reraise him and ask the question?

After just calling and he checks, id be pretty sure he was just trying to make you fold after your c-bet, or he caught a little piece of the flop. Weak Jack or 77-TT ect. Or he has a set and is taking a strange line, but not likely id say.

Turn bet coulda been alittle stronger, but half pot is ok i guess. His call is alittle suspect.

The river is my biggest worry here, i dont see much point in betting. You are either winning and he is unlikly to call anymore or he has trapped you and wants to check/raise. You only miss value if he has KJ or something that can call a small v-bet, but i dont see many hands that do here.

Id say, he either had a straight draw that got there on the turn, unless it was 47 lol, or a weak pair on the flop that he thought might be good coz you didnt reraise the flop. 56 or 54 would be nasty.

I think you only beat 2 hands in his weird range, thats 47 and KJ, 47 isnt likely so i check behind on the river.

Crazy ramblings i know, but i know what i mean. His line is very suspect to me in a $106 tourny with no reads.

Could be way off here but my guess is he had 53 or 57. The min reraise is strange on the flop but he prob put you on a c-bet and wanted to make you fold. The turn looks like hes picked up a draw and then he obv rivered you, if your "turn bet wasn't big enough". I think on turn, I would jam it here as he isn't likely checking with a set or 2pair on a draw heavy board.
