I'm 95% sure villain has 2pair worse than KKxx on 4th street. Am I correct to call looking to improve to 2pair?

When I hit my 2pair I have to value bet, right?

Feel free to ridicule very_happy

Since my 7stud experience is about as limited as everyone else's here:P Lets omit the odds and incorporate poker theory instead. Tournaments are about survival, you can miss a value bet here and there, and it's OK. I don't mind trying to trip up or hit two pair as his board is pretty dry, but I wouldn't value raise him without 3 kings, just because being alive is much more important then getting an extra 300.

Ive no fkin idea and I finished 2nd wink very_happy

Irrational was aptly monickered if I remember correctly.Idve raised 4th street and folded to a reraise,or called and folded 5th if you didnt improve dramatically..if he'd just called yr bet then i think yr assumption is correct.I dont think the value bet is necessary man, already a nice pot.

I find the hh very hard to read and take in,if idve seen the hand(which i obv did!! but dont remember it!!) then I might make ore sense :P very_happy

my fav part of the game was when you mistakenly typed in the chatbox 'yes,im donking away' wink very_happy

I think i made that comment after the above hand very_happy

I hope tons of 7stud beginners venture in this thread, should be some good lessons considering we all started our posts declaring our ineptitude for the game very_happy

Im with Amh, reraise on 4th street to get the info. Im assuming he had JJJ. Even so, I don't think I get away from that with someone else showing one of the remaining jacks.

I have the info :P My read on buddy tells me he nearly always has 2 pair here and it's at best QQJJ. That's based mostly on him calling on 3rd street and leading 4th. My read had him checking a set. Anyway, my read could be wrong but that wasn't what i was interested in wink

So, if we assume villain has 2 pair on 4th street, do I have odds to make the calls I made looking to improve to 2pair or better?

Just checked odds calculator. You're 44% to win with KKxx v QQJJ which is good enough odds to chase down your 2pair with other players in the pot.

I'll just add that I would never check a set in 7card stud either, you're most likely getting called anyway so you might as well bet on every street.

Thanks for the odds JB happy I think given my specific cards it'd be slightly less but still high enough to make each call justifiable.

I would bet my sets, too. Especially in a multiway pot. My read was specific to that guy, I don't really remember the reasons beyond what I already mentioned. I do remember he'd checked a dealt set on 3rd 4th and 5th streets earlier tho.

Any comment on whether to vbet? I mean he has to call and if I called the whole way with the assumption my hand would be best, if improved, don't I have to assume it's best on 7th street, too?
