Thanks guys and gals.

Pretty awesome day. Really funny tourny, i don't think theres a similar one online.

With 20 people left I OPR'd everyone and 90% of players had an average buy in of under $20 and some of them were losing players over a reasonably large sample.

This meant i could really pick my spots a lot better than usual, and managed to chip up at points where i shouldn't have been allowed to.

Those who railed will have noted the maniac chip leader. This guy had all the chips from 20 left and wasn't afraid of putting them in the middle. He was definitely a donkey, but to give him his due, he was actually doing a pretty good job of putting pressure on ppl, and for a long time was picking some decent spots.

I was fortunate enough to benefit from his over agression on one occasion in particular. Having raised in 2nd pos at his bb at the FT he moved in on me with J6o - which was frankly atrocious, as I was NEVER raise/folding vs him at that point - sure i had KK, but whatever i raised i wasn't folding and J6 doesn't play too well against my range...

I also doubled through him another 2 times before heads up - KK > AQ on the final table bubble where he flopped trip aces and i rivered a King to stay in (i had a flush draw too), and after that when he shoved on me with AT after i raised 99 and got flatted. This was obviously a coin flip, but in reality I was a hell of a lot further ahead of his range than that. I'd be willing to bet he would have shoved any two cards in that spot, and was lucky to be racing.

People kept limping at the final table, despite having no chips, and showed they were willing to fold to shoves. I capatilised on this and picked up a lot of chips merely by moving in preflop after limpers. This strategy almost cost me when i moved in with A6 4 handed after 2 limpers and was called by the overlimper with AT. Luckily the poker gods were smiling on me and i turned a straight.

3 handed i got a bit more luck when i shoved the sb with J7 and hit trips against QJ, but this was for under half my stack, and i was genuinely surprised at his call, and if i thought he was calling that light i wouldn't have moved in. It was a tricky tourny in this respect, as the majority of players were inexperienced so wanted to move up the pay scale, but at the same time were overvaluing hands - it meant for some more creative decisions.

Heads up he had perhaps a 2.5/1 chip lead, but surrendered that without a showdown pretty quickly. I raised A8 oop and he called, flop A 7 7 i bet he raised big i shoved he folded. Then i caught him bluffing with 88 on a A T 7 x x board to go to chip leader.

A few hands later i raised AJ oop and flopped trips after he flatted. This time i elected to slow play as he had a habit of betting the pot on a bluff. He checked behind, and when a 2nd club fell on the turn i felt it was time to take a stab and led at it - he immediately raised. At this point i felt there was no point in shoving as i was only getting called by an ace, and if he had an ace the money was going in anyway, so elected to flat with the intention of checking the river. River was a brick, i checked he jammed and showed down the missed flush draw.

After this i had him all in twice before the victory. Firstly i shoved K6 when he had 11 bbs. This was perhaps a little early to be dropping the hammer on him, but i felt i needed to keep the pressure up. He called A5 and held.

A few hands later with me on about 3.4m and him on 1m i raised the button with AA to 100k and he shoved, i called and was in total silence as he rivered his straight.

I hadn't time time to process that beat before he open shoved the very next hand into my AK, i duly called and almost had a heart attack when he flopped the nut flush draw with his A9o, the turn came a King and the river bricked, and it was double fist pump time.

Thanks again to everyone who railed, great tourny, really enjoyed it.

Puggy.
