Dutch Professor Cites Poker as Skill Game

Do you think this will help in allowing Americans back into the online game?

Neat, though I'd like to have seen more skill ratings of other games. Or the different skill ratings for different poker forms. As for the Americans, they can still play poker plenty online.

thx 4 link.

Cool article but a bit brief sad

This was surprising

The 0.4 rating is quite high, on the order of chess

I'm curious about others sharing this conclusion.

They never left. This site shut them down here is all.

Do you think this will help in allowing Americans back into the online game?

Playing poker on-line for money is not against the law in the U. S. Funding the accounts is.
All my American friends play at PS or FT or DR.
They are all still playing but here they wont let them play for one reason or another.
Go Figure

Leo,

I know they can still play at other sites, what i meant was at this site in particular. It would be good to hear a response from PR on this. I will settle for a 'personal' opinion from some of the mods happy

Hi guys,

This is quite interesting. In my opinion, it’s pretty obvious by looking at this equation that poker is a game which is greatly influenced by skill.

If one merely looks at some tournaments to discover players which consistently do well, does this also not highlight this fact?

With regards to getting the USA players back, I created a thread a while back about a bill that supports online poker. I will try to find it and link it to this thread.

Regards,
Remi
