237 days to go very_happy

Looks like they(Honduras) had a decent team 81/82 man really. won the concacf cup in 81 and then look a little ul in the '82 wc finals, 1-1 draw against hosts spain,a draw against Ireland, then a narrow 1-0 loss to Yugoslavia in their final game.

As to mexico,in the rnd 3 table with Canada, they only just qualified above Jamaica on Goal Diff, and for some reason in the OP of this thread,I had them as a suprise possible non-qualifier,so I dont think the route has been plain Sailing for them and obv not got a team to compare to the one of a couple of wcs ago? very_happy

..And I guess Pat would like it to be noted that the Swissies made it too.Not the hardest Group in WC qualifying history, but still a great achievement, esp given their somewhat poor performance when co-hosting the euro championships recently very_happy very_happy

I guess if the Swissies hadn't made it,one of the benfits of being from there is that you could justifiably support Italy,Germany and France instead :P very_happy

..And Kim's strangely quiet very_happy

A mixed period of Norwegian history recently. The Euphoria of Winning the Eurovision,Being voted the 'Best place in world to live' tempered by failing to qualify for the world cup and then, to top it all,the crushing blow of A-Ha announcing a split after 25 years together very_happy

European play-offs:

Rep of Ireland v France
Portugal v Bosnia-Hercegovina
Greece v Ukraine
Russia v Slovenia

Tough one for the Irish, especially being drawn at home first. Great scalp if they manage it though.

Matches due to be played 14 and 18 November.
