Doyle Brunson Eliminated in 17th Place (£31,198)

Back we come from dinner, and no sooner than our remaining 17 were seated back at the felt, than we saw action.

On Table Centre Court, Daniel Negreanu raised, and the action folded gently over to Doyle Brunson on the button, who moved all in. Over to James Akenhead in the small blind -- who reshoved. Negreanu got out of the line of fire, and they turned their cards over.

Brunson: {Q-Spades} {9-Hearts}
Akenhead: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}

Flop: {4-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} putting Brunson in the lead

Turn: {K-Hearts} putting Akenhead back in the lead

Mr. Brunson's assistant, who seemed to be under the impression that Doyle was holding the {A-Spades} {K-Spades}, cheered and called out for no nine or queen.

River: {J-Hearts}

To a standing ovation from the crowd, Brunson is bust.

Mercier - up to 2,046,000. That's over a fifth of the chips in play, and no-one else has over 860,000. Wow.

Saar Wilf Eliminated in 16th Place (£31,198)

It folded around to chip daddy Jason Mercier in the small blind and he raised. In the big blind, wee chip baby Saar Wilf called all in for his last. On their backs, as it were.

Mercier: {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs}
Wilf: couldn't be much worse with {9-Clubs} {7-Hearts}

Board: {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {A-Spades} {3-Diamonds}

"Did you have a set?" asked Wilf cheerfully as he stood to leave. No, was the reply. "Ah well, you were good. Good luck everyone!"

Ram Vaswani Eliminated in 15th Place (£40,481)

Barry Shulman has just moved past the one million mark in chips with the recent elimination of former big stack Ram Vaswani.

Vaswani, short-stacked, got it all in holding {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and was looked up by Shulman who tabled a pocket pair of eights.

The {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{ 3-Spades}{J-Hearts}{ 4-Diamonds} fell in favor of Shulman, who now sits with right around 1.1 million in chips.

Akenhead and Saout are both in the November nine as well. surprised

Reason:
typo

also corrected an error - I thought Shulman was in the November nine as well, but it's a different chap with the same surname. very_happy

Teddy Sheringham Eliminated in 14th (£40,481)

With chip munching Jason Mercier raising it up preflop from mid position, Teddy Sheringham decided to make his move and pushed all in with {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. On this occasion, however, it was an own goal for the former England International as Mercier was sitting on {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and duly made the call.

Board = {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5 -Spades}{6-Hearts}{2 -Hearts} And before the river was even dealt, it was ready Teddy go with Sheringham making that lonely trip down the poker tunnel. Mercier, meanwhile, has 2,502,000. Yum.

Tony Cousineau Eliminated in 13th Place (£40,481)

Last hand before the break, and James Akenhead raised from the button. Tony Cousineau pushed from the small blind, James Akenhead called, and they turned their cards over.

All of this except the last bit is hypothesis; we actually only saw the cards being flipped but that seems to be the most likely course of things given their respective positions.

Anyway, we digress.

Cousineau: {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades}
Akenhead: {K-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}

A massive roar of approval erupted from Akenhead's supporters at the rail -- a little unsportsmanlike, perhaps, but there you go.

Either way, Mr. Cousineau is busto in 13th, and we are edging nearer to our final table...

Thomas Bichon Eliminated in 12th Place (£51,536)

On the very first hand back after the break, James Akenhead raised it up preflop to 55,000, Thomas Bichon moved all in for 143,000 and the Akinator made the call.

Akenhead = {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Bichon = {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Board = {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} {2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{ 4-Hearts}

Keith "The Camel" Hawkins Eliminated in 11th Place (£51,536)

Keith "Camel" Hawkins raised to 52,000 under the gun and it folded around to Praz Bansi on the button, who made it 200,000. Back to Camel, who announced all in; then back to Bansi and he announced call. All of this swiftly, quietly and with the absolute minimum of fuss. Like gentlemen.

Bansi: {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}
Camel: {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}

Board: {5-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {4-Spades} {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts}

Camels can go for weeks without drinking, but this one will be hitting the bar directly, we suspect.

We are down to 10.
