Ace/Queen

($1/$2 blind - live cash game)

I'm utg+1. I have $160 and have AQ. I raise to $8 and get called only by the blinds. I know the small blind plays loose and I had no read on the big blind

Flop: 66A (rainbow)

Blinds check it to me and I check back (trappin')

Turn: 66A-10

Blinds check it to me again and I bet $18. Small blind folds and big blind raises to $36. He had about $220 in front of him in the beginning of the hand, so I called

River: 66A-10-9

Big blind bet $32

.......... I should have called???

The only hand real hand you beat is AJ.

AK has you beat , AQ is chopping A9 AT have overtook you.

And 66 AA TT 99 have you crushed ovbiously.

Hands like KK QQ JJ A8< , well hes basically bluffing.

Could he be bluffing? , well yes easily because you under represented your hand on the flop he may think your weak or its possible he could think there is some value with a raggy ace.

The long and short of it though is with no reads you just have to look at the pot odds here imo and with the strength of your hand i think its a call , i mean you checked flop to get some action by underrepping your hand and got the action you wanted , you could well be beat though but the way youve played it with no reads and the odds on a call i call.

Nowdays i try and get some kinda reads or watch how people are playing at least for a few hands unless i get a monster so you know if he is willing to play hands like A8< OOP to an EP raiser , whether he will make very thin value bets , is spewy etc etc

Well, on the flop I thought my hand was huge (that's why I checked.) On the turn I thought my hand was still good, even after he min raised me. He could of had a med-small pair. When he lead out and bet on the river, that's what threw me off and I should of folded I think. Like Marky said, the only thing I can beat is AJ or a bluff. I had no read on him BUT he had no read on ME either

Anyways, I did make the call and he showed me A6 :\ I don't think I played the hand bad....... maybe I did

Thanks Marky and sufur
