Random card generators? ?Not usual stuff

Oct 28, 2009 10:18 PM. Post 1
You ever notice when your cards are dealt there is a delay when giving you a card? why is this?
I also play a lot of 5CD and notice when in an mtt everyone has good cards to bet.
Yet as i did tonight i played 50c/$1 nl for 4 hours yet little hands came out.
Im in no way saying this is directed against myself as i never lost but it seemed odd to me.

Ive noticed this delay dealing a card in other games and i always wonder why and sometimes bet a little with chit if only one calls. Don seem to do any harm.
Im more wondering why in mtts everyone seems to get good cards yet in cash games seems you get little.
Like i say i never lost. But seems long time to play yet get little cards.
I have noticed this in cash games v mtts

The delay is just lag, spot, as far as I know. It might be a tiny drop in your connection with the server, it could be a lot of games at the server simultaneously needing cards dealt, or it could be your own computer choosing to do something in the background at the same time, thus momentarily slowing down your processor.

You will probably find that if you use a word processor, from time to time actions that usually happen immediately take an extra second. You will certainly notice it with your browser on the intermesh. A page loads at once, over and over again, and then suddenly the same page takes much longer to load. You must remember what dial-up was like, surely? very_happy

The good cards in mtt/bad cards in cash thing might be down to people being generally more aggressive with weaker hands in mtts, especially when everybody keeps folding. Or it could be cash game players being able to get away from good second-best hands, whereas the tournament chip count system often forces you to call and show the hands.

Or it could be variance. I have sat through many mtts where I was getting junk and no massive hands were getting shown down. Or you could just find tourneys more exciting and your mind gradually over time decides that the hands are bigger.

The other thing you have to remember is that the CIA intercept every packet of information transmitted over the internet, occasionally causing delays in poker cards getting dealt, and add code to it which is formed into a logical structure using the pattern of big and little hands dealt from poker servers in order to add a hypnotic hum to your computer which will ultimately control your mind.

So in short, there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Reason:
Typos and added a bit. And added a comma for clarity, one hopes.
