It reminds me of the analogy of the abandoned house falling into disrepair.
For whatever reason, the owner doesn’t want to invest any more time and money in it.
The lawn is taken over by weeds and brush, storms tear off some shingles and knock some branches off trees, kids break out some windows, derelicts and vermin move in…… And it’s a relief to the whole neighborhood when the place finally burns down.
I ventured a guess last year about how things would play out here -- and why : I said that BWIN would let this place wither on the vine…. And that seems to be happening.
Bit by bit, things started going wrong : You couldn’t preview your posts, the formatting went to hell, it was hard if not impossible to edit posts, you sometimes couldn’t reply to messages, threads disappeared into nowhere. (This was the neglect and the weather.)
But time and natural attrition was too slow -- so they turned the place over to the vandals and vermin (player mods), and let them use it as a venue to validate there imagined self-worth, and to settle old scores.
BWIN has their cowardly reasons for doing it this way -- and I believe most of us know why.
I sincerely hope I’m wrong -- but I doubt it.
It’ll probably be a relief to them when the place is gone.

Does it really matter anymore? This place has been dead for a long time now...good things have to come to an end sooner or later. Pokah coming to an end isnt the end of the world.

no its not the end of the world CC but when something that you have been coming to for a while starts to wither away why cant we say something about that??? If there wasnt Facebook Im sure more people would be crying about Pokah going down the tubes..

Oh and I thought that Bwin higher ups were gonna open this Pokah forum up to its Bwin players... apparently that must not be the case eh? happy

You’re missing the point, CC.


I come not to bemoan the loss -- but to deliver the eulogy.
There are other forums out there that are as good or better than this one ever was.
There are other gaming sites that accept U.S. Citizens and let them play for real money.
But I haven’t found another gaming site forum as good as this one was for the first couple years I was here.
The real purpose of this post was to let BWIN know that not everyone was fooled by their tactics -- and in the hope that if that stupid law is ever changed, and they want to get us back, we’ll remember their shoddy treatment and say GFY. happyhappy
