Which poker sites have the best event qualifiers?

Nov 3, 2009 12:17 PM. Post 1
I took most of my money out of Bwin a few months ago (the final straw was my player notes had stopped working and support seemed to have no inclination to look into the problem).

I have been mainly playing on PP. Not too keen on their look and feel, and their lobby is a bit of a mess, but at least they have decent support.

However I really don't like the way their qualifiers work. If you win entry to the next stage of qualification, you are immediately registered to the next tournament at that level. This means you have to make sure in advance that you will be available for all the qualification tournaments at the specified times, which is not very convenient if you are not sure when you will be able to play. The Ongame ticket system was much more flexible.

So what I'd looking for is recommendations for sites which have similar flexible qualifier tournaments, where I don't instantly get locked into having to play tournaments at a specific time.

I think PS has the step system, which is pretty good.

Lower levels are all turbos but full of total idiots.

Thats all i really know. sad

If you google for it you'll find it explained, sm. Basically it's a series of sngs. There are six levels, or 'Steps'. Step 1 costs $7.50 to enter. The first two places in any Step sng get tickets to the next one up, while some other places get tickets for the same level again, or sometimes a lower level. I'm not sure whether Step 6 is actually an sng or not, but the rest are.

I've heard it said that they are very taggy and difficult after a few Steps up, and that each Step has its own strategy, because the ticket payout varies from one Step to the next. I believe PS allow you to take cash rather than the package, and this has led to some players who are basically Steps professionals. They just keep playing the Steps all the time, and cashing the packages.

I suspect Ongame might be a better bet, in all honesty; but I am only going on what I have heard (or what I have read, I suppose mad). The Steps system certainly has the flexibility you are saying is lacking at PP. The tickets don't expire, and you use them when you wish.

My vote would be PS ( very good support) with FT second and ongame third (lousy support).

I've heard the same things Muss has. The upper levels of the steps are full of pros and I highly doubt better software/support will make up for the difficulty.

If you really can't stand ongame give ipoker a shot, no personal experience with the qualis there, tho.

Many thanks for all the advice and information from everyone. I am a little bit wary of PS and FT, because I can't help thinking that at some stage the US authorities are going to go after them (hard), and in that situation any deposits could be at risk.
