About me

Presentation About Me

(Please excuse the slashes before the apostrophes. For some reason they are added.)

This paper is a work in progress, that is, as much progress I can make in trying to define myself in one paper... So here is an attempt to make you, the reader, know me as much as possible by, but not limited to, reading this. I say that because you are more than welcome to hear me babble on about myself on any other occasion. So it is incomplete, and I will continue to finish it when opportunities arrive.

Edit: I have noticed upon writing this paper, that before I begin writing about myself, I begin with writing my philosophy. It is somewhat of an introduction, but more of a book about the basics of everything. So if you follow it through and reach the end (something no one will ever do), you will know all about me and why I am what I am. Good luck!

I think that one thing that defines a person more than anything else is how he thinks, i.e. his method of thought, or way of thought. That is, if one thinks of everything in terms of mathematics, and always follows the laws of logic, he will be a completely different person than someone else who is similar in every other aspect, except that he thinks of everything in terms of artistic interpretation . So I find that what make me different than you or anyone else, is that I have a very unique way of thought. I\'m not saying you don\'t, I\'m just saying that I do.

So over the past two or three years, I have (more unconsciously than not) developed a method of thought that I thought was ideal, and now I\'m very close to what I thought was ideal three years ago. I almost agree with my past self. I thought that the most intelligent and most logical and rational method of thought would get me farthest, since that in the 21st century, intelligence is more valuable than strength. On that note I do agree with myself, but I\'m beginning to doubt that the most intelligent method of thought is ideal. Of course, I never believed an ideal existed, mainly due to my agnosticism and my nihilism, but instinctively, I look for the most satisfying lifestyle. I have found over the last year that that is not the lifestyle that is satisfying.

I have generally concluded that the most satisfying lifestyle is probably the healthiest. That makes sense, after all, we are animals trying to make our way to the next generation where natural selection rigorously weeds out those who don\'t succeed in survival reproduction. So health is probably one of, if not the most important factor, as it is required for both. So why doesn\'t my method of thought prove ideal? Because as intelligent creatures, we have one huge disadvantage in, or due to, evolution. Intelligence is usually associated with, or more likely the reason for, a never ending quest for answers. Unfortunately, no mortal man has really been satisfied with his intelligence. As the saying goes, the more intelligent one becomes, the less and less one knows about the universe. That saying is saying that knowing more just frustrates us because we are supposedly getting closer to omni-knowledge. But knowledge is infinite, so there is no getting closer...

This unfortunate turn of events has led to one very unfortunate result: mental health. Humans may surpass any other creature in any other aspect but one. We trade our intelligence with poorer mental health than any other species to have ever crawled this Earth. And this is where I begin writing about myself. I, ladies and gentlemen, am the lead role in the Greek tragedy of the human race. I have, over the course of my life, taken the entire process above and shortened it to one very short lifetime. You may say then, that I have grown intelligent to the point where the human mind cannot stay sane. That is an exaggeration, but best defines the most dominant part of me in one sentence.
