| Presentation | -I am pretty new to poker. Although I am 56 and have known the basic game for most of my life, I have never played seriously since I have long been aware that I have no "poker face". Give me a good hand and I light up like a Christmas Tree and you would think that my dog just died when I have crappy cards. Playing online allows me to play seriously without all of the obvious tells that I know that I must have in face to face play.
-So now I am playing seriously. I set some specific goals for myself and am trying to discipline myself to follow "the plan". I set a goal of $50,000 in play money before I put in any real money. I cheated though. When I got over $30K, I put in my first $100 of real $. I nursed it for about 400 hands before it finally went poof! I went back to play money and got my stack over the $50,000 mark and in went my second $100. I lost $60 of that before I went on a $200 run to get up to $65 in the black before I slid back down the pole. Now I am in the red but only by a bit. 10/14/03- $157 (I will look back on this in a month and see where I am then.) -I am writing a book, which I plan on publishing myself and selling online. Basically it is an account of my experiences. If you think that you might be interested in the book, let me know and I will put you on a mailing list for when it is completed. -I am a competitive backgammon player. I play in live tournaments and have hosted tournaments here in Rochester. One advantage that backgammon has for me is that there are no hidden cards and no need to suppress my glee or disappointment. -I am also an avid soccer fan and I coach little kids soccer teams. Soccer and baseball are my favorite sports and I love them equally. I root for the Yankees, the US National teams and the Rochester Raging Rhinos. I also like basketball (the NBA, not college) and root for the Boston Celtics and I root for the Buffalo Bills in football. When the Bills are not playing, I seldom wath, except, of course, the SuperBowl. -I am political: decidedly LIBERAL. -I work in a community center where I run computer labs, catering to elementary school aged kids. My computers are all Apple Macintoshes, the Mercedes Benz's of the computer world. OS-X rules! -For most of the past 25 years, I have been a home remodeling contractor.
