About me

Presentation Things I learned playing online poker

People with the stupidest most arrogant names like, I Always Win, or U SUX always play aggressive. Although their chip stacks may grow, they always go out when they are caught in a stupid bluff before the flop. It is funny how you can lose allot of your chips when someone gets runner runner to beat you. Then watch them lose all those chips in the next few hands.

The longer you last the better players that end up at your table. So the longer you last the better your chance of good playing will award you. The stupid aggressive players will most likely gone as you approach the money, or you can take their chips as they play crap, and then claim that pokerroom cheats.

Slow playing a strong hand after the flop can lead to a harsh defeat. Staying in for only a draw can hurt your stack. Playing aggressive before the flop does not always scare away someone with crap hold cards that get lucky. No matter how well you play a hand, someone can steal all your chips by playing crap. Of course they will lose all those chips by playing crap and then say pokerroom cheats when they are finally forced out.

Playing too tight can lead to short stacks later in the game, and the blinds cutting into your stack, forcing you to go all in before the flop to often. Play will always slow down as you approach the money. When you are short stacked this will either allow you to steal the blinds when you raise, or get caught by someone with monster hold cards. Once everyone is in the money, normal play returns. Anyone that has to rebuy has a very slim chance of making the money, and almost no chance of sitting at the final table. In the unlimited rebuy games the person that spends the most will usually be out within 15 minutes after the 1st break, often less then 5. Also they rebuy so much that placing in the money they won't even be able cover their losses unless making it to the top 20 or above.

It is also funny to watch how many places you drop no matter what position you are in when people can pay for add on chips. You could be 10th and still drop 5 or more spots when people add extra chips for some unknown reason, they are most likely going to loss them to an all in call or coin flip flop where the extra chips really don't mean anything.

Don't expect playing style to influences wether people call or fold your raise, 90% of the people online don't even know what tight or aggressive playing is. Most of the time they have no idea how to even bet in or out of position.

There are tells in online poker. But you have pay attention and label the player as strong or weak player. Strong players will raise with strong pocket cards, then bet strong after the flop. If you get to see their hold cards you will see that they are face cards, suited connectors, or pocket pairs. Always check the hand history if someone mocks their cards, you can see what they had if they stayed in to the end. Someone tripling the blinds or higher, then going all in after the flop of low cards either have a higher pocket pair, or made trips with the board. Weak players will bea\t real fast if they have a good hand or take a long time thinking on a draw. Weak players will slow play a good flop, and allow themselves to lose on the turn or the river, then bitch about it. The people who complain in the chat window have no idea how to play a hand correctly. Always check people Pokah Page, see how many hits they have had, and read their Guestbook, you can learn allot.

90% of the people online only know how to play Texas Hold'em and have no idea how to play Omaha, 7 Card Stud, or 5 Card Draw. What wins in Texas Hold'em isn't all that hot in 7 card stud or Omaha.

Nothing is worse then getting trips in your hold cards in Omaha. When the board pairs in Omaha look out for the full boat. You may make a full boat in Omaha, but someone can always have a better full boat with pocket pairs, beware. You may have the King high flush, but the person that raises you probably has the Ace high flush. You may make the straight on the flop, but be careful of the flush and full boat beating you. It is sometimes hard to make a comeback with a small stack in High/Lo with all the split pots. High/Lo is also the only game you can go all in with a winning hand, and win back less chips then you started with.

Nothing is better then getting trips in your hold and 1st card in 7 card stud. If your hold cards aren't pair, not of the same suit and to far away for a straight, fold. Nothing is better then watching everyones up cards in 7 card stud, you know which cards are not going to make it to your hand. It hurts to get three of the same suit and never see another as you stay in a hand. Nothing is worse then having 4 of the same suit and the next three cards don't make you the flush. If in the four up cards of your opponents hands beat yours, fold.

Bad players don't think they are bad, just unlucky.
