About me

Presentation In light of the announced closing of Pokerroom, I have a few thoughts to share with those patient or curious enough to read my rant, so here goes. I have been playing at pokerroom.com for over 4 1/2 years and in that time I have earned and given away in excess of 250 million dollars in playmoney. I am on an Apple Macintosh computer, having no download version available, I was subject to Java Applet restrictions on play money. I could not earn more than 21.5 million in play money without having my account frozen. I did in fact cap out three times, during my time here. Previously, pokerroom support would remove several million to free up cap space. They could not or would not increase the cap for Java players, whereas the Windows and or Vista download versions had no such play money cap. After making the top 100 bankrolls list which is now defunct, I had little left to achieve.
The last time I capped out, pokerroom support refused to take any money off so that I could play the ring games. They will dock you or freeze your account for chip dumping, but they won't offer a viable and legal way to reduce a bankroll close to cap. One support tech told me to enter sit and go tournaments and lose intentionally. As my only viable option, I did that and it took me 4 hours of intentionally losing tournaments to get under 21.5 million so that I could play ring games.
Pokerroom support has been average at best over the years, and seemingly every new change or decision has made the playing experience less enjoyable. They took away banking, which allowed an elite group of players to play Private 10K preflop tables with huge stacks, four and five players each having over a mil stack in table. It was very exciting and allowed for an elite group of regulars to play really high stakes games by themselves. This had the added advantage to rule out idiots, punks, noobies, blind callers and checkers, as they were instantly booted or not allowed to play. Why else have the option of creating a private table if it is of no benefit. Once banking was was eliminated, many regulars left for other gaming sites for high stakes poker.
Next, pokerroom support changed the boot time period from 48 hours to 30 minutes. This has allowed repeated offenders to sit back in again and again and continue cheating or causing trouble and abusing players. Conversely, pokerroom never has managed to stop some of the most sinister and abusive of stalkers to continue to terrorize the tables. Yes, I am referring to the notorious Abe, and others of his ilk. He has managed to outwit pokerroom support for the last 4 years and is still at large doing his utmost to disrupt a largely friendly poker community.
The last nail in the coffin was chat priviledges, and chat banning, and attempts to stop abusive language. All I can say is : WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!! You cannot type the same letter three times in succession such as AAA or XXX without getting that ridiculous abusive language blurb, yet you can type in Kunt, Azzclown, Azzhole, or any other foul word if you do it phoenetically, as in, "phuk you azzhole fudgepaking kunt" or fill in the blanks. The internet is the last bastion of freedom in the world, yet everyone from the right wing bible beaters to the US Congress is trying to regulate it. Enough already! Every player in every table has a mute button. Stop regulating everything, and USE THE FUCKING MUTE BUTTON.
Finally to Bwin, I hope you lose every English speaking player from the USA, Canada, Britain, Australia, and all of their protectorates for your ignorance and short sighted attempt to enlarge your player base by closing down pokerroom. I hope Hollywoodpoker, Full Tilt and other sites swell with English speaking poker players.
And lastly, to all the friends I have made and met over the last 4 1/2 years, thank you so much for the good times, the laughs, and the memories. I love you all, and you know who you are. RIP Pokerroom, it was a pretty good run, but all good things must come to an end.

Michael............ AKA...........Mike....... Mugabi........ Mugs.......... M............. Ibagum

Now that Bwin has totally ruined the play money experience on pokerroom, Bwin, Tower Gaming, and Hollywood poker, I have abandoned all of my accounts on those sites. You can find me at pokerstars and Full Tilt. My nickname on both sites is x_MUGABI_x. As I am on a Mac, DoylesRoom and Ultimate Bet are not an option for me. If any of my friends find a cool poker site that is Mac friendly, please get in touch.
