About me

Presentation My name is Phil and I chose my screen name "Pro Cracker" because I specialize in "cracking" good, made hands with unusual hands or junk. I got the nickname from Matt, a fellow tournament player at Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles. I'm more of a tournament player than anything else. I don't care for live game that much because people can just pull out more money and it's harder to bluff them. Not nearly as much psychology or strategy is involved. Also the multiple isn't as big.

To be a great tournament player, you have to have a "feel" for the game.
You have to be able to play without cards. Most players cannot do this. They cannot reraise or bluff all in with nothing. You must have this skill to be a tournament champ. Waiting-for-the-nuts types of ROCK players usually can get deep in a tourney, but they rarely win.

November 20th, 2006 at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, I won a tournament called the Philippine Poker Tour. Part of the prize is a buy in to a big tourney in the Philippines on Dec. 16th and 17th. So...am I going to the Philippines to play??....No....probably try to sell it or give it away...
On October 27th, 2006, I took 3rd out of 2000 in a freeroll (at Full Tilt). On September 10th, 2006 I won the Pokerroom Omaha High/Lo freeroll that started with 1,861 players. A few months ago I won a $5 NLH tourney with 570 players. I quite often show up in the top 20 during tournaments here...but half the time I crash out by playing too aggressive with a big stack. I have won tournaments in Hold Em, Omaha, and Stud.

I won a few one table satellites at the WSOP 2006.. but didn't have the time to play the events that lasted for two to three days. I got the chance to talk to Greg Raymer and Johnny Chan. Both were really friendly. I think Raymer is highly underrated.

My patented catch phrase I often repeat at live tourneys after I have just "cracked" a good hand with junk and somebody is whining and bitching about me as they sulk on out to the parking lot.......
