About me
| Presentation | Hi, and thanks for spending the time to come and visit my page. My name is Rachel and Im 25 years old. I live in New York though I lived most of my life in Israel. I speak English, Hebrew, a little Arabic, and German. My goals for the future are to become a lawyer. Now, before you start thinking of all the lawyer jokes, let me explain why I want to become a lawyer. I've worked with children in crisis, an organization that works as child advocates in custody cases, and works to get children services they need (especially in the special education setting). It's unbelievable how little input children have in their own lives. Seems we forget that they can make good decisions with proper guidance. I want to work as a lawmaker, writing new laws to protect children. Here's a moral question: If minors are below the age of 18, then should a child of 5 be accountable for pulling the trigger of his father's gun in the same way a 17 yr old should be accountable? The law states, they are both minors.... or here's another one... a child's parents are down and out and are collecting welfare. The son is 7 and delivers papers to get some spending money.. should his "income" and tips be considered in the household's income, in essence reducing their welfare payments? According to the law, he MUST report his earnings as income, thereby reducing the amount received... See, this is all part of the reason new laws must be enacted... That is where I'd like to help make a change. The other side of me is extremely playful. I don't play to hurt, but I do like to playfully tease and joke around. Dancing is the most fun I can have in an upright position. Scuba diving is my passion. I seriously believe I'm a reincarnated mermaid. You can't imagine what being face to face with a puffer is like, unless you've been there. I've gone diving in the Galapagos Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Red Sea, Palau, Turks and Caicos and many other places. The Seychelle Islands are my next conquest, though I'm saving that to spend with someone very special... At some point I'd love to go cage diving off the coast of South Africa and watch the great white sharks. The things that are most important to me are my family, my boyfriend, exercising, watching my nieces and nephew grow up, my good friends, my education and keeping healthy. I think people are responsible for their deeds, and getting the right balance in life is important. I love Poker, and wish I was better, but like my boyfriend always tells me, it takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master. Good luck to everyone at the tables!!!!!!!!!! |
