| Presentation | http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org/ The newly established Poker Players Alliance (PPA) is a Las Vegas-based, grassroots, non-profit organization focusing its efforts on lobbying the U.S. government to legalize land-based and Internet poker. Comprised of online and offline poker players, the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) is the only group in the United States actively seeking legislative change in favor of the game of poker, as well as the only organization existing to support and defend the rights of poker players. It is supported by various poker players, online poker rooms, and card rooms located across the United States. As stated on its website, its main purpose is "to promote and protect America's favorite past-time" through advocacy work in the capital and throughout the nation. All American poker enthusiasts are encouraged to join the organization in order to influence lawmakers' decisions and the general public's impression of poker and poker players. Currently, players can become members of the PPA for a fee of $15, and join a group of poker personalities that includes Linda Johnson of the World Poker Tour (WPT) and Tournament Directors Association, Nolan Dalla, Media Director for the 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) and 2005 World Series of Online Poker (WCOOP), and pro player Paul Darden. http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org/ |
