| Presentation | Best achievement so far online was also my best turnaround; I had a crap few months back in July/Aug'06, with things going wrong at work and a house sale that fell through (for the 2nd time!)... As always, the poker suffers when you're concentration is off... and I blew my last $200... So decided to lay off the online poker for a while (still £2k up on the home games, so it wasn't all bad!).. After about a month and a half, things had picked up again and I decided to log on and start playing again... Trouble was I only had $4.72 to my name and for some reason I couldn't deposit any more monies due to some glitch in the system.. What to do?... Then I remembered that just before I'd blown what I had left of my bankroll, I'd won a $14 Turbo and had a £150 'Ticket' sitting in 'Tickets & Bonuses'... Cool!... So decided to sit in on the European Weekly which was just about to start... 247 Entrants with a top prize of $9,000... 4 Hours later I'm in 7th with 13 players left in.. then a bad beat with A-K and I end up scraping onto the final table in 10th being the Big Blind and forced All-In as I didn't even have enough to cover it!... fortunately I get dealt Q-Q, get 3 callers... and I'm (just) back in the game (albeit still firmly in 10th).. Tighten up... Pick my moments... and start to pick up a few more chips.. then 2 other players go up against eachother and one gets knocked out... Great, up to 9th!... few hands later 3 players go at it... and one knocks the 2 others out.. Oh yeah! into 7th!... Still picking my moments.. still racking up some much needed chips... then another clash between 2 other players,, and another one bites the dust... into 6th!... Yet another clash a few hands later and I'm into 5th! The Blinds at this point are crippling... and then I get dealt A-A.. Oh Yeah! If ever there a time for an all-in moment, this was it! A few callers before me... I move all-in hoping I just look desperate in 5th.. and get one caller... Excellent! I flip the A-A... He flips A-3D... Even better!! And... of course... he hits three diamonds on the Flop and I'm out in 5th... with $1,875... Still from $4 & a ticket won in a $14 Turbo.. to $1,875 in 4 hours, it makes me realise why I love this f*&%&%ing game!!! ... Oh yeah.... "Bring Back The Yanks!".... I kind of miss them! |
