| Presentation | Now comes the high and mighty crowd, in thier gowns soaked with blood and thier crowns of thorns upon thier heads, to tell us what we do is wrong. Anyone who can't see through this one is a fool. Who, precisely, is behind the big push to make internet gambling illegal? The National Thoroughbred Racing Association, and the various Gaming Commissions of states where gambling is legal. Why, you ask? Simple. Ninety Nine percent of all gambling websites are outside of the United States. The money leaves the United States. It never comes back. The organizations listed above know, from experience gained over the last few years, that if I can sit at home and play poker online, I won't buy that plane ticket to Vegas. They lose. So they make it illegal. They just convice the government, then the government tells the sheep "They fund terrorrists!" and the sheep say "Gambling Ba-a-a-ad." "So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause." -Padme Amidala, Star Wars Ep. III (George Lukas) ____________________ ____________________ _________________ I have been playing poker since I was old enough to climb up on a barstool and not burn myself with my cigar while doing so. I remember one time, I drew the ultimate hand on the deal. A natural royal flush. Had to slow play it, though. Raised three gummy bears and a bottle on the first round. Seriously though... I love to play poker. My wife was ready to kill me when I bet the house on a hand last week (or maybe it was cause I bet her on that hand, too). Good thing I won. If you can't tell, I'm full of shit, too. One thing I'm not full of it about... I love my wife, and wouldn't trade my future with her for one night with any woman in the world. (Sorry, J-Lo. Just ain't worth it.) ~~About these "Smoking Bans."~~ I can't believe, in America, we are letting this thinly veiled first wave of Communism take place. When any government can tell property owners that thier customers cannot use a LEGAL and TAXED product on thier property, that is communism. If you REALLY think it is a health risk, take off the kid gloves and outlaw it. Otherwise, SHUT UP!!! ~~About The PR "Server Updates"~~ Jan. 05 2006 I prefer to play for play money on this site. I like to see peoples faces when there is real money on the line. I can't read you on a computer screen. And I am absolutely peaved that Pokerroom hasn't kept up with demand, and I keep having problems logging in. Do they need to take up donations to buy a server that can handle it, or what? This has been going on for 2 weeks now! Mar. 01 2006 I'm trying to understand... why has Pokerroom been so slow to upgrade their servers? For 3 months, I have occasionally gotten an error message when I try to log in. It says they hope to resolve the server capacity very soon. Three months? Noah took less time to build the Ark. Mar. 09 2006 Okay, People. This is a lot better. Not only did Pokerroom not build better servers, they made the failed logins even more annoying. Now they tell you as soon as you hit the button that they are too busy for you. Is this REALLY supposed to inspire me to trust them with REAL money? Do I look THAT stupid? (Don't answer that.) Okay, enough ranting. And enough reading. Now, go sign my guestbook, and get your butt to the tables. And remember: second place is the first loser. |
