| Presentation | Hi there, I have been playing Texas since August '03, and chess has taken a backseat since then. Love talking to folks at the tables, but at home I play in $50 tourneys one a week. Live in a Chicago suburb and love Chicago with all my soul. Rarely see Chicago folks out here...? Baseball is a passion as well. A friend brought up the fact I had a derogatory quote about the gridiron. I love and played football...playing football was years ago. I'd take a full hit from Brian Urlacher if the White Sox get one shot at the Series while I am alive. If you are in Chicago, Wrigley has to be visited, but the real gem is 10 miles south. The White Sox are a good franchise, it's better for families, more parking and the best food in the majors. Please ignore the cap in the picture above. Other than that, I like reading, going to theatre, music clubs and good film. Going to say hi all to at the table because I'm a chatterbox, but I like further conversation as well. Conversation is the oldest and best form of communication. Everyone posts poems, philosophy, etc.. Here's mine. Shakespeare would have loved Bull Durham - great monologues. "Well I believe in the soul, the c**k, the pu**y, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, softcore pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve. And I believe in long slow deep soft wet kisses that last three days." ---The inimitable Crash Davis, in the film Bull Durham. "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages." -William Shakespeare, As You Like It. Crash Davis would steal these lines. "To fall in love is easy, even to remain in it is not difficult; our human loneliness is cause enough. But it is a hard quest worth making to find a comrade through whose steady presence one becomes steadily the person one desires to be." -Anna Louise Strong - overrated relationship counselor "Football incorporates the two worst elements of American society: violence punctuated by committee meetings." -George Will - He is a classic "Let me tell you something Mike. You're money, and you know what else, your a big winner. I'm gonna ask you a simple question and I want you to listen to me: who's the big winner here tonight at the casino? Huh? Mikey, that's who. Mikey's the big winner. Mikey wins. -Trent, The cult comedy, Swingers (1996) - Another classic "He is able who thinks he is able." -Buddha - Confidence ruled the Buddha See you in the trenches! |
