| Presentation | I am just a poker playing fool. I switched from PP/EP, due to the constant bad beats. Drove me nuts. Seems a little more real here. At Empire Poker, on SnG tourneys, I placed over 40% of the time. At MTT, I have had two 1st place finishes and several money finishes (out of 10 played, or so). I started playing poker about 2 years ago. I started in a Casino in Biloxi, MS. My grandfather hounded me to play for years, but I finally did it. Then, I started online at EmpirePoker/Party Poker. I have been there for about 2 years. I often go to Wendover, NV and play at the ring and tournament games. I have won a 70 person, second in a 60 person and several just out of the money finishes. Bad beat stories, I have far too many. Once, while playing a $50 buy in SnG, I was low stacked. I was the big Blind and the small decided to try for a steal. She puts me all in. I have AA, a good position to be in. Turns out, she held K4 o/s. The Flop.... KKK, turn and river... QQ. Yuck. Or, at PP, several times flopping the A-high str8. Go all in, or called all in, with a person holding a small pocket pair. And the board trips up on the turn and river, knocking me out. Yuck. 9/8/05 I have played a perfect game. Avoided traps, but I haven't made a huge amount of chips. I lost a coin flip, 10s vs KQ. He flopped two queens and I never caught up. A while later, the same guy, mtalley, and I are in a pot together. I raise pre-flop. I get one caller. The flop shows QJ3. I decide to move all in, as I am first to act. After a little time, he calls. J10os. I feel ok, until the turn, which reveals a 10. Then, the river. 10. So, with the best of it, I am gone. 8/29/2005 I am in Kansas City for work. I decided to go to Harrah's for a little real life action. I played well. The game here is weak. My first hand was a missed flush draw (AQ). I had the highest card on the board, which was 2 pair and a King. I lost to a King. The very next hand, I picked up 10 9 spades. Action was good, and I was small blind. So, I play down the action and pick up a straight on the river. The guy put me all in with his AK, so I doubled up. In my first ten hands, I played only my small and big blinds. However, in the hands I didn't play, I saw two all in hands and callers with incredibly bad hands. One guy went all in with QJos and the guy (black cap) right behind him calls with A3 os. QJ wins. A3 tells QJ what a bad play that was, as he was teaching him a lesson by doubling him up. I realized very quickly, Black Cap, was a big gambler. I had a couple more hands and did well. My best hand, however, was against Black Cap. Three of us play, I am in very late position (right next to the button). We all limp in, me with 10 6 spades. Flop comes up A 7 3 spades. I pick up my flush. Black cap bets 30 into a $17 pot. I think he is either three of a kind, two pair or high flush draw. I want to take the pot down. Second to act folds, I bet $100. I really want this to end without a fight. I have seen Black Cap bluff at pots and his play makes me want to call this. He raises to $200, but I have seen him put in a lot of money on a complete draw. So, I go all in, making it $375. He calls. Two clubs drop on the turn and river. He flips over his cards with gusto revealing his awesome KsJc for a K high. My flush takes down his stack. His quick call without thinking cost him $375. I love this game. 9/9/2005 I have been playing well today. Minus a couple bad beats, going out 4th in two SnGs, I have placed in all the others I have played. I decided to try another MTT, as I do OK in them. I have only played a handful and they are a bit different from SnGs. However, I placed in my third one today. It was close, tho. I had lightning strike next to the house and the power flickered. The computers, except the laptops, went down. Including the one I was playing on. I had been chip leader for about 30 minutes and it was getting close to crunch time. Players were catching up, so I needed to play a couple hands. When the power went out, I was in 5th, top 9 pay. 17 left. Off goes the system. Oops. I scramble to get the system back up, which it does. However, the network connection stays down. When I return, I realize there are 11 players and I am now 7th. Just gotta play smart. Actually, the smart play was nothing. Shortly thereafter, we make the final table. People are racing to make 10th, which pays $35. After 10th goes, I pick up 10-2 hearts. The Doyle. The hand I hate most in the world. I play, as we are already getting the same payout. 7 other player have the same idea. I go out 9th. It was fun. [10/17/2005] I have been playing mainly SnGs lately. I have been doing well. However, this morning I was given a nice Bad Beat. Three of us in on the first hand. AA vs QQ vs JJ. The flop comes up K79. 79 were spades. I go all in, and get two callers (although I didn't expect a fold, as we only had 250 left, each). The turn comes King and the river is a Queen. Ugh! I still love this game, but that bad beat sucked. 10/24/2005 I haven't played any MTT tournaments in a long time. I have been doing so well on the SnGs, I would much rather play there. I have noticed that the cards are hitting me when I need them, so if you see me at the table, watch out. 10/28/2005 Well, after a long hiatus from MTT, I played one today. Got as high as third, then went on a major drought of cards. I made the money. I just got tired of playing and a little tilt. Lost KQd vs AA. Oops.  11/2/2005 BAD BEAT HELL. I have been going through bad beat hell the last few days. I kid you not. I just lost 10 9 vs AK. However, here's how it happened. I raise to 400 preflop as the small blind. He calls. The flop is 3 3 10. I bet, he raises. I call. The next card is a Q. I bet, he puts me all in (about 1000 more). I call. The river shows up J. He put me all in on an inside straigh draw and hit. I have AA. I lose to QQ. I flop a straight.. Runner runner for a guy on the draw to hit his even higher. I have KK, the other player gets runner runner flush. The bad beats are getting insane. I had been playing well, but with these beat, I am getting killed. GL out there. I need it. Bad Beat 11/24/2005 I have pocket 10s. Pot is raised to 200 (50/100 blinds). I call. Flop is low cards. 9 7 4. Rainbow. I bet, I get two callers. Next card is a 10. I go all in. I get two cold calls. Last card is a 7, which makes me the nut full house. however, that is unless the other guy had 77. Which he does. Insane. 9/18/2006 I haven't played here in months. I got a $20 deposit so I decided to give it a try today. I have played a couple MTTs this week. Saturday, I took 4th out of 407. Won 366. I am now in the money for a 5+1 269 player in 5th place.
