And as always - Take care. --Todd ---------------------------------------- Aug 03, 2006 : Well the tables have been good to me.... On Monday played 4 $5 Sit-N-Go's and had 1 1st, 2nd's and a 3rd finish. Hadn't been doing well on freerolls until tonight when I placed 4th. Got a chance to see some amazing hands. I played very well the first few hours. I doubled up very early in the game and was able to use that advantage...By the end of the 2nd hour I had worked my way up to 1st place and got back there at the end of the 3rd hour after a small slide... In the 4th hour I fumbled badly and lost half my stack on a hand that I *knew* I was second best in and had no business playing around in... Tightened my play up a bit and made it onto the final table, where I really picked the hands I wanted to play in, treading water in my position. Went all in with Q-Q which fell to Q-10 when two 10's showed on the board. Anyways it was a lot of fun - and I'll try not to spend the $7 in one place... Jul 09, 2006 : Gee it's been a while since I've posted here. Came in 852 in the +$100 Freeroll. I am getting much better at playing a tighter game I think. Throwing away Q-8,K-6 kind of junk. Have been doing some good reading. Of course my stack dwindled down into the 6 x BB, when they hit 50-100. I caught AA and about doubled up.. I struggled up to about 1600 then dwindled down to about 700 where I lost when I went all in with KQ flush and lost against an A3 flush in the 100-200 blinds. Nov 20, 2005 : Hey I'm improving! 1493rd in this mornings FreeRoll! I can't really complain abou my play this morning.... I had 2 pair K-9 on the flop that lost out to a straight draw which cost me about a grand in chips. JJ didn't hold up to kill my last $140. Nov 19, 2005 : *Grumble* *Grumble* 1572nd place *Grumble* in the *Grumble* *Grumble* morning *Grumble* FreeRoll *Grumble* . Somedays you can no wrong ... others you can do no right..... Had a perfect opportunity where 1 player was betting aggressively preflop, turn and then river.. River card brought a 3rd spade on the board with no pairs on the board offering a nut flush opportunity... I didn't have it but made a huge raise as if I did, and he didn't even hesitate to call and win the pot... I played the rest by the book raising when I should, but just could not connect with a flop, until I had a KQ connect to a K on the flop against KK which pretty much did me in. So in short I clearly need to take a lot more care in picking my spots to make moves. Nov 18, 2005 : Off to a good start today... Doubled up in .25NL ring game thanks to a "manic-aggressive" player on my left. I had to wait awhile for a hand that I could use to take advantage of him, but I finally got 2 in a row and was able to take 30 odd dollars away from him. I may not get much more poker in today.... I gotta get ready for a hot date.... Nov 17, 2005 : Stupid move of the day : .25NL ring game.... had AK .. raised to $1 preflop .... had 1 caller.. flop comes with 789mixed. I was outta position and bet as if I had top pair.... Figured the flop couldn't have hit him either... he called .... long story short he had a 79 and made a full house and I lost about $10....Apparently I played that too aggresively... But I'm still up for the day... barely, but I am in the black... made it to 82nd in the afternoon freeroll - so close..... All I can say is that A-Q is not my friend anymore |
