About me

Presentation While traveling the journey of life, always remember---It is nice to be IMPORTANT but It is more important to be NICE

Did you know that each King in a deck of playing cards represents a great King from history:
Spades--King David
Clubs----Alexander the Great
Diam.----Julius Caesar
Hearts---Charlemange better known as King of the Franks
----------
The King of Hearts is the only King without a moustache
----------

Playing cards is my favorite past-time. It does not matter if its poker, bridge, or gin rummy. I just like to play.

The following is taken from Bridge in the Menagerie, which was written by Victor Marlo and published about 35 years ago. It is as true now as it was then and has always stuck in my mind, so I am passing it on to you.
There is too much emphasis everywhere on the art of winning
And not nearly enough anywhere on the art of losing
For surely the losers must enjoy doing so
Were it otherwise
They would have stopped playing or taken to winning long ago

WILLIAM BURROUGHS wrote,
Desperation is the raw material of drastic change. Only those who can leave behind everything they have ever believed in can hope to escape.
--This quote definitely applies to N/L Hold-em. You must be willing to abandon everything you have learned at times in order to make the correct play.

French photographer Robert Doisneau wrote,
Chance is the one thing you can not buy. You have to pay for it (chance) and you have to pay for it with your life, spending a lot of time; you pay for it with time, not the wasting of time but the spending of time.
--But for the game of hold-em time learning is surely well-spent.

Mike "pinball" Clemens said,
Most people don't have the patience to be good.
--This definately applies to poker.

Also on a personal note. I think the greatest entertainers of all time were THE MARX BROTHERS, and the best movie of all-time is DUCK SOUP with HORSE FEATHERS and A DAY AT THE RACES close behind.
My all-time favorite movie moment: Groucho Marx is talking to a lady who is threatening to walk out during the conversation. He turns to her and says; You do not have to leave in a HUFF, you can leave in a MINUTE AND A HUFF.

Started playing at pokerroom in July of 2002. In September of 2002 received a $10 comp to try a real money game. From that $10 start I have cashed out over $100,000 in earnings.
I was invited and went to Sweden all-expenses paid, in Feb. of 2005, along with 9 other pokerroom players. The pokerroom staff treated us like kings while we were there.
I also attended the Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni Dinner on pokerrooms behalf in March of 2006. I had a blast meeting, getting my picture taken with and autographs of some of the retired Toronto Maple Leaf players.
There is a link below of the pictures I took at the 2 events. Feel free to check them out and leave me a messsage.

I played in the Brantford, Ontario Spring Classic $1,500 buy-in No-Limit Texas-Holdem Tournament (June 14-16 2007) finishing 5th out of 267 players, good for a prize of $18,000.
I flew to Regina Sask. on July 26th 2007 and played in the CPT $500 buy-in finishing 8th out of 332 players, good for a prize of $4,020. I also played in the $1,000 event the next day but finished out of the money. I incurred expenses, including buy-ins of approx. $3,000 for the trip netting $1,000 after expenses.

Played in the CPT Brantford summer events the first week of October 2007.
I finished 7th in the $500 buy-in on October 1st good for $2,700.
I finished 4th in the $1,000 buy-in good for a prize of $9,300. I should have won this event after getting all-in with pocket 3s vrs A-9 with the other chip leader, except the board double paired counterfitting my hand. After the hand was over a chip deal was made with the 2 short-stacks to end the tourney. So dam close.

I played in the World Poker Tours (WPT) North American Poker Championships $10,000 buy-in held in Niagra Falls Canada at the end of Oct. 2007. Unfortunately I got knocked out on day 2 finishing 173 out of 504 players. I needed to finish top 45 in order to get into the money.
