Well we promised you twists and turns, and even before we’ve begun we’ve got a few planned. LabRats II will go live February 3rd. We’re going to kick off with a private LabRats only tourney where the winner tops up their bankroll with an extra $100. How’s that for a twist?
We'll be announcing 3 winners a day for the next 5 days. So if you read everyday till Friday you’ll know the full line up but not before then! Are we being a big tease? Probably.
Here's the bio's of the first lucky three winners, well done and good luck guys!:
PokerRoom nickname: AJCashman
Hi guys! My last name is Cashman and I always knew it was destined to sound fitting with an activity someday :)
I'm 19 years old from Sydney, Australia. I'm currently at university chasing a physiotherapy degree - so you can imagine how much I need a stress reliever in my favorite game; Poker! (Although it can be a conflict of interest for one looking for a stress reliever sometimes!).
I used to love playing soccer, and I once represented my state; took years of dedication but I achieved that feat, and it's always something I've been proud of. Nowadays I've taken up bodybuilding, which I'm extremely passionate about. It helped me transform myself from a very skinny kid to a well built adult. My other interests are Metal, and naturally, poker. I've been playing for roughly 4 years now, have a reasonable bankroll, and am looking to crack that big tournament someday :)
I'd love to be recognized for my poker style. Because we all know - what's more satisfying than making a great read, hitting that nut straight, winning the big tournament - and having everyone with you for the ride! I think that's a really inspiring concept for any poker player of any level.
I also love a challenge. When I set my mind to something, I become extremely passionate. I'll still retain the laid back side of me throughout - but my main goal would to prove to myself and everyone else that I'm one of the best of the bunch - and can earn more money than rest. The top prize is very appealing, but the sense of competition under scrutiny is something you don't get everyday.

It's a bird, it's a plane, no... it's Super Jeff!
Playing poker for some 16 years now, I’m a 31 year old hailing from Vancouver, Canada. A lucky player, no doubt, but also a calculating one. After reading an article from Chris "Jesus" Ferguson about bank roll management I was inspired and started playing freeroll tournaments with the hope of turning an empty bank roll into something formidable. I did just that. Starting out with a win that netted me $10 in my first free roll, I moved through the low-limit tables until I reached a solid $200 bank roll. I also enjoy playing NL Hold 'em at my local casino's and the odd trip to Las Vegas.
This type of contest is right up my alley. I have run a couple of experiments of my own to see how far $10 can take me using solid bankroll management ($200 is the ceiling so far...). I would really enjoy getting started at a larger stake and seeing if I could really take my bankroll to the big time!
I also run my own home-based business so I have a lot of flexibility with time and as a result I'm able to play frequent hours and am also able to pick and choose the times that are working best for me. I think this will help as well to make me a real contender in the contest."
When not playing poker I enjoy playing hockey, snowboarding, performing with my band
Sub Rosa and operating my web development business.
PokerRoom nickname: miniravioli
I am a musician and a somewhat new player at online poker. I also am a part time coffee roaster. I have been playing weekends card games since I was 15! (about 16 years ago now). I love to try new games like Omaha 8 etc... and still look a little confused when I think my A2346 has the low end pot and someone has the A2345.
It is these eccentric things that I believe make me a good candidate for the Lab Rats this year..... Well that and that fact that I am on unemployment at the current moment between jobs and poker could simply take me to places I have never been!

As far as poker goes, Johnny Chan is the MAN. Mere words cannot do the man justice. The simply awesome Johnny Chan took the poker world by storm racking up back-to-back WSOP main event titles in 1987 and 1988. Walking away with a cool $1,325,000 for his 2...
