		When bored I like to be creative with the betting-amounts to have some fun, and maybe confuse the opponents. You make it little harder for them to calculate potodds and this can be annoying :P If my stack is 5419 and the blinds are 75/150, I like to raise 419. If I`m up against 1 opponent that started with a round number, I can then set an ammount that cleans his stack, so he gets a round number again. (I know, what a nerd) My favorites are 111-999, 911, 123 and 321 when I start the madness. I don`t do this so often in mtt`s over $50 because it looks silly, sometimes. Funny when people start commenting on it in the chat and do the same trick back in the lower buy-ins. How do you guys react to those bets, and do you have any tricks to add?

		lol I see that alot, I always figure they're trying to be clever. Since trying to be clever is a sure way to lose your stack I tend to ignore it and act as though they were making standard bets. On occasion if I'm certain of my hand I'll play back with an exact numerically opposite bet; e.g. if he bets 123 I'll bet 321 just for a laugh.

		I think often times when people make odd bet amounts (ESPECIALLY when they have, say, t2102, and they bet t102), it's a sign that they have a weak or very strong hand (usually the former, actually). Since they are putting effort into "cleaning" their stack, it's safe to say that they don't feel like putting much effort into thinking about the hand. This is because they have the board crushed, or because they are planning on making just the one bet and being done with it. Of course, like most online tells, this one is sketchy at best, but I would be careful to give away any information about my hand this way.

		Yes mort i like to do this too , i know just betting the standard amount always makes it hard to read your hand anyway but i like to make their calculations tougher and yes it can relieve the boredom When people do it to me i tend not to take too much notice as it could mean a few things.

		I often bet odd amounts, it enables you to stray from standard bets and if occasional if adds to an opponents confusion, then all the better

		Have to agree with Shooty. If its a preflop raise and the strange bet is less than 3BBs, more often than not they're raising with a marginal hand like KJ,AT,AJ,KQ or small pairs. I think its all well and good to use strange bets preflop but keep the bet amounts the same whether you have AA,22,KT or 78suited.

		stop telling yourselves that you do it to make your opponents calculations harder.. the majority of players here give a chipdump about calculations... I do it too.. it's fun.. but I don't worry about cleaning my stack.. mostly it's because I'm too lazy to move my fingers across the numeric keys e.i 150.. when I get very sick I like to give tells on my hands if the circumstances are there.. if I flop a set of 6s I've been seen betting 666... don't tell me that it's stupid cause I know that.. I still like it..

		Matters nothing to me. Im in front i dont care . Its raise 128 999 .. 748 . means nothing to me. I see it all the time.

		It's basically another way to play a psychological game against your opponent. If used often, I discount rapidly the implied value of their bets in future games, and vice-versa. Seems to work. Or just ignore it, and concentrate on what your odds are or what your instincts tell you.
