As day 2a comes to an end, we've seen both great play as well as bad beats. We’ve seen some very promising players bite the dust, but also Team PokerRoomies who put up their best when it really mattered, to dodge and improve in the grandest of fashions.
UpChitCreek is glad to share a few stories with us; he felt he was getting short and had to make a few moves towards the end - and managed to pull of two good bluffs during the last level; "A guy in early position raised, guy next to him re-raised. I felt like, this is it, I've haven't got any cards for too long now, here we go! So I re-raised 'em with nothing on my hand. My heart was beating on like a drum, but I kept my poker face on. Apparently it worked, both guys folded. I wanted to just laugh out, but I did my best to keep it cool. Wow, what a day."

And, I know you’ve already asked yourself the question a few times, what does a Team PokerRoom.com member eat during a tournament? Well, here’s a brief selection of what we offer our players in the dinner breaks:

Woo, and we all bow our heads to the lost son, mussorsky the tux penguin, who's finally back commenting on the WSOP action. Hats off mate, you’ve been missed!

We've finally finished off the last level of Day 2a and we've got 7 players still alive and running:
drohse: 274,700
efroni1: 94,200
AREZ_ONE: 83,600
---Grazy---: 82,400
TheBrain001: 73,600
UpChitCreek: 70,900
pokerfiah: 43,200
drohse was on cruise control for pretty much the entire day, steadily building his stack higher and higher. AREZ_ONE also ended the night on a high note after patiently sitting on a short stack for most of the day.
Congrats to the players for making it through to Day 3 and look forward to yet another batch of Team PokerRoom players tomorrow who'll try to match the feat on Day 2b.
After grinding away all day around the 30k mark, AREZ_ONE's patience has paid off with a big double late in the day.
On the button and facing a raise from MP of 3300, AREZ_ONE looked down on pocket aces and re-raised it to 8k. MP then pushed all-in over the top and AREZ_ONE made the easy call. AREZ_ONE turned over his AhAs and his opponent showed QcQd. The board ran out Jh Th 6h Kc 4h giving AREZ_ONE the nut flush and doubling his stack up over 70K.
AREZ_ONE actually revealed during the dinner break that he was sick in bed all day yesterday and is still feeling the effects of a cold today. Consideing this, his efforts today are even more amazing.

Sad news to report as bigbalu67 has just been knocked out of action late tonight on Day 2a. bigbalu held 66 with 2 3 4 on the board, with two clubs. bigbalu67 pushed all-in on the flop and his opponent called with 9c 8c and hit a nine on the turn to seal the deal.

Team PokerRoom is eight strong heading into the last level of the day, sitting on the following chip stacks:
drohse: 235,000
efroni1: 160,000
TheBrain001: 67,000
---Grazy---: 62,300
UpChitCreek: 60,100
pokerfiah: 58,000
AREZ_ONE: 31,600
bigbalu67: 19,500
drohse continued to climb higher and efroni1 made a big move as well. Everyone else held steady or chipped up a bit, with the exception of bigbalu67 who lost a monster pot with kings versus aces.
One last level to go in Day 2a with blinds of 600/1,200 and a 200 ante when players return from the break.

drohse grabbing a quick bite before adding more chips to his stack.
Liam has once again caught a couple of todays heroes for some dinner break interviews.
After getting down as low as 13k with 500/1000 blinds and 100 ante, pokerfiah has bounced back to over 50k by doubling up twice in quick succession.
Day 2a has certainly been a roller coaster ride for pokerfiah; starting out with 77K, dropping down to the depths of 13k, and now bouncing right back up to near average. Let's hope the good run continues and pokerfiah can make it though to Day 3 with a healthy stack.

Janus1894's WSOP Main Event has ended after his pocket J's ran into Pocket A's with all his chips in the middle.
Under the gun and low stacked, Janus1984 pushed all-in preflop after leading out with a raise and then being re-raised from MP. Janus1984 showed JJ, but was going to need to connect with the board when his opponent tabled AA. The board ran out with no improvement for either player and that was the end for Janus.
That's no less than three times today that a Team PokerRoom.com player has been busted by pocket A's.

It seems that pocket aces are destined to be the doom of Team PokerRoom today. J Carlisle was holding KK on a K 5 7 flop, and, even better, got tons of action, getting his 60K+ stack into the middle with an opponent that covered him and who was holding AA. Blank on the turn was welcome news but an A spiking on the river to give his opponent a set of aces wasn't a welcome sight at all.
J Carlisle seemed amazingly upbeat after that terrible turn of events, echoing the sentiment that there wasn't much he could do about it and wouldn't play it any other way. He did say it was time to head back to the hotel to tie one on, a sentiment we can definitely understand and officially endorse in cases like this.
