How about a "World Cup of Pokerroom Tourney".

Lets say you organise a 5+50 tourney for Most countries in one week. the top 2 from this tourney go into a Final World Cup Tourney. The only way to get into Final, is by coming in top 2 of the 5+50 tourney. Make it a NLHE tourney. The Qualifiers would run over at week, running at times that best suit the Country. 730pm is usually a good time for most, whereever they be. The Final Tourney could be a Sunday, at a time yet to be decided to suit, the majority of Entrants, probably Europeans.
It is vital though that only the Country Tourney in question allows that countries participants.
The top 2 in the qualifiers would get a 10+1 tourney ticket to the final guaranteed, and then the it could also payout the remainder if any on a flat payout structure.

That's the basics of this idea. very_happy

I regularly play heads up on this site.

I would love the idea as suggested already of a Heads Up tourney of over 20 lets say people.

However my one addition to this is, have it best out of 3 games to start and then best out of 5 for final 2 left. You'd have to reset Chip stacks each time, for this to work though.

I like the World Cup Idea. I'm sure Canada would dominate.

Here's another idea. Set up a tourney where the only move you can make is fold or All in. That would be fun. Like a MTT which ran 30 mins, lol. Just kidding.

Im very dissapointed. I was convinced that my idea of having the $3.40 tourneys for $10+1 tickets and $5.50 for $22 tickets etc in the scheduled qualifies was a brill idea but no one seems to care!

How dare u!

PS Goofy i hate your world cup idea!!!!
(I dnt really, but wanted revenge for my post being ignored)

Ok another small idea.

Basically a few more deep stack tourneys for the player with a lower bankroll, eg possibly double stack $5.50 tourneys where you start with say about 3000 chips or even 5000 chips with a slower blind structure, eg 12 minutes or longer. It would just make a bit of change and I think it would give the better/solid player a chance so you can wait to pick a spot to put all your chips in without being forced to wiv 92 offsuit in the big blind.

What about tournaments to win more prizes? Like a $22 or $33 entry where you get prizes for making the final table. Things like TVs and laptops or cheaper items or poker sets(dont have to be top of the range) just what the prize pool allows for the amount of tournament entries. Just think this would be a bit more fun for a change!

I really like the leaderboard suggestion, 3 nights a week, not too fussed about the buy-in but I'd say at least $10.

A world cup promo is also a fine idea. The only issue is that PR doesn't yet differentiate between UK players...

My suggestion would be to sometimes split the really popular tournies into 3 or 4 MTT with lower limit of players. e.g. instead of the 12k $5 rebuy which pulls >1000 ppl have 3 x 4k $5 rebuys each with a limit of 500 ppl. They can start 15 mins apart or so. Make it a Sunday Special or something.

Regarding turbos, some 5 min blind levels would be good. You could keep the tournies as short as they are now by only allowing 10 seconds to act. This will also allow many more hands per blind level to played. Also reducing the agonising slow playing by small stacks just before hand for hand kicks in.

A heads up tourney would also be good. Perhaps as a 16 person sng, 5 min levels again.

The new loyalty gold/silverroom tournies are excellent and worth playing again. How about some sng for pts where the prizes are cash or tickets. Currently you can buy a $5 ticket for 400 pts, what about a sng (= 4000 pts prize pool) with $30, $20 and $10 tickets for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Just an ergonomic thing:

On the restricted tourneys page, the one for green room, silver room etc, how about a direct link to the schedule page?

At the moment it's a faff to go into the newsroom and open the link about the new schedule.

Another Thing.... Make It So That When A Player Recieves A Tourney Ticket For Whatever Reason.. (Compensation For Server Crash / Ticket Added To Tourney / Ticket Granted For Whatever Reason / Etc...) That You Send An Email To That Player!!!!!!!!!!

there are some good suggestions here but be careful about what you change as opposed to what you add

the changes to the green and silver room tourneys have been good in that they have introduced a bit more money and more variety but they have effectively removed daily NL HE green and silver comps - so now i and others like me who don't play stud/draw/limit have less events that were regular parts of our daily schedule

by changing too many daily regular events you risk changing the flavour of the site too much which could end up losing people at a time when the site needs to increase player numbers

by all means add new comps and see how they fare but please be careful about major changing regular daily events that have been here for a while

the more regular daily events changed - or effectively removed - the more risk there is of people who play these defecting to other sites

---

as to ideas, turbo shootout style comps to either tickets or cash have been mentioned on another thread and could catch on but timing would be the key here to get the numbers in - it's no good entering a comp and having to wait hours for the required numbers of starters to reg. before play begins

tourneys i've noticed on other sites that don't happen here are regular deep stacks - 5k chips/20min blinds for 5 or 10 buy-in although these take all night to complete and change - less than a dollar - tourneys

another idea from other sites are affordable qualifiers to bigger events that aren't turbos and entry can be cash or PPs - not hundreds and thousands - again not sure if the numbers are here for that

on the cash tables most other sites have tables
